Idiots buying Xbox 360s for thousands of $$$
Seriously.
It's just a game system that reportedly only really has 2 good games (out of 18 launch titles). It'll probably be at least 6 months before the good titles start trickling in and at least 2 years before developers even begin to harness the true potential of the thing and there will most definitely be a price drop soon (maybe even in spring to counteract the PS3 launch). People are also already reporting major issues with their Xbox 360s for crashes, overheating, and harddrive problems. 1st gen hardware always issues - remember when 1st gen Xboxes had faulty CD readers? Same with PS2s... This is why I'm never buying another game system at launch. I learned my lesson with the PS2. And to top it off, I wasn't on the ball enough to buy as many of these systems as I could to capitalize on people's idiocy... |

No doubt, I love my xbox and would like to have the new one, but com'on, a little too much hype for a system that only 'looks' better than its predecessor.
Until I see an innovation, say 3d (real 3d a la imax), virtual reality or a chip you have to get implanted to play a game like in the movie existenz or a matrix-like system, there is definitely no need to run and fork out so much cash. ps:for those that would like to argue that oh 360 is so much better, bla bla, the jump from snes to playstation was worth while. Even 3DO for those who remember it was ahead of its time and didnt do so well because of its cost. So we have the technology to make amazing games beyond our imagination, but thanks to the cost, we are stuck with 360 for the next 5 years. |

who cares what people spend their money on? some people realize all of these things already, but can afford the system, want it, and buy it anyway. it's not for me, but i wouldn't go so far as to say someone is an idiot because they can afford something. without early adopters these bugs would never be found and worked out, same as with anything new.

Dude anything 1st generation is something to stay away from.
Give it 5 months and there will be newer xbox's (maybe even shorter) Im still pondering if i should skip the 360 and just wait for PS3. I'm in no hurry to get any of the next gen systems, totally staying away from the revolution's power vibrator controller. |

I'll wait ten years and buy it for $20 at a garage sale.
Still, buying 1st gen systems is not that far removed from being the first kid on the block to own Optimus Prime or all the Dinobots (and don't deny wanting to be that kid!). It's braggin' rites, and some are willing to pay more than reasonable prices than others for those rights |
