dear people of Red Room
get your shit together! waiting in line for an hour and a half is not cool. i understand you want to give your guestlisters priority, but don't forget about everyone else. we're still paying money to get into your club. especially since we were already there when your club opened. it wasn't even half full when we finally got inside.
fifteen bucks for a night of locals? i hope your paper cuts sting when you're finished rolling around in your pile of money. also get some real glasses. plastic cups should only be at frat party keggers. on the other hand: great music. nicky delgado rocked it fully. |

How early were you there at? Either they could of been setting up and opened late or you were there during the heavy rush. With our first night with out rain in along time down town was pakcked like summer time. Or the bouncers might of been desprete for some extra bux hoping someone would pay to pass the line like any club.
Most clubs on a Saturdaynight charge $10-$15. Usualy you get a bloody no name top 40's dj's were as the red room you now get 2 rooms full of some of Vancouver's BEST house dj's hands down. Personaly I like the plastic cups (there not so cold to hold) but I beleive thats due to the red room's other night were they get alot of gangters throughing them around :p Really I highly doubt anyone that works at the red room or is apart of the beleive night would read this... if your really not pleased make a comment on the their thread in clubvibes. Extra note: if you really dont like the $15 cover... let me know next time you want to head down and you can get dibs on my +2 g-list if its not already taken ;) |

i totally agree so many people just fuckin walk up to the front door and budge there way in.. pay off the bouncers.. you can stand outside for 30 mins in a line of 20 people but have 40 people get walked through the front door.. its fuckin bullshit itell yea.. but yea otherwise that place rocks |

I can totaly understand your frustration. Even being a person on the guest list ive sometimes had to wait 10-20 minutes being in the front of the vip line watching the other line get by us. Again though there are like a million diffrent things that could be holding up the line that I can also understand. Also keep in mind that beleive not only has a ton of resident dj's trying to get in with their freinds, but they also have a huge team that helps them out and a ton of regulars who have gotten to know the bouncers quite well. Face it... its a great popular night. I also agree with you about club politics. Bouncers get paid penuts when you concider the hours they work and the risks they take to do their job. Either you could pay them more an hour (cover/drink prices go up) or you can deal with waiting an extra 10 minutes in line and let the rich ones make up for their pay in stead of you. |

haha...
yes its true.. rhia and i will defend that club to the grave (hopefully the night never makes it there) you'd think they were paying us to bump their threads... haha (i'm just kidding.) devoted believe patrons is all we are. Chewy - you've been going there for quite a while yourself. why dont u spend alittle effort trying to know the bouncers up front, and maybe they'll be friendlier to u and sneak ya in with the guestlisters? just a thought. |

yea.. i am friendly.. i wait my turn .. im patient and respectable. some of the others are rude and they budge and somehow they still get inside before i do.. what ever happend to just letting the people in as they get there .. it would be faster.. then no confusion and pushing would result at the front of the door. Just let people in one by one and it would go fast enough... |

I planned to go there last night/was there (when there was 3 people in the line up) but decided to pre drink then went back and there was a massive line up, so went to a buddies place to drink.
The Red Room is awesome, they play the best House music in all of Vancouver. I'm totally going next week, hell if it means getting in early I'll just pay of the bouncer. |

Yeah but when was the last time any of us had to pay cover or wait in line there? If I had to experience what the threadmaker did too, I'd probably be pretty cranky, but I really really hate waiting in lines :p |

I know that unless I'm well hooked up, I'm not going anywhere near that club. Because I'm not paying $15 to see locals, and I'm not waiting more than 20 minutes if I've arrived at a decent time. That is BS. Last edited by veN; Jan 30, 06 at 01:24 AM. |

i know there was a band there until 10pm. we actually called ahead and they said we should arrive in line at 10:30 and would have no problem getting inside.
they were obviously done cleaning up for the band because they were letting huge ammounts of guestlisters and pay-offers inside while everyone else waited in the cold. they let five people ahead of us in the club and then made us wait another 40 minutes. yes, i did have a great time once i was inside...but i don't think i'll ever go back there again. i have never been to a club that chargers 15 bucks even on a saturday. lotus has a sweet progressive house night on friday that is almost half the price, better crowd of people and a way better club. |

I'd go more with impatient, I don't even like waiting in line at the grocery store or waiting for the bus. oh, and you're kind of coming across like a bitter tool, so you might want to cut that out. :) |

A groupie? No. I'm someone who has worked enough saturdays at the doors of other nightclubs to know that it's industry courtesy that puts me there and not being a groupie.
I could really care less about looking cool to anyone, especially someone who seems to get really offended by people who are impatient. |
