Oh, look at that, here is another....

Most workplaces consider those terms sexual harrassment.

point.set.match.....

Want to fight more? :P

Since when have I been politically correct? Those publications don't mean shit to me. If someone that I work with chooses to use the term I'm hardly offended. I feel sorry for people who work in a stuffy office that is all straight and narrow.

I agree that if some broad I don't know walked into my office and called me hun or whatever that I'd kinda give a bit of a 'WTF??' but like I said in regards to my boss... I know her, and I think it's kind of endearing to be honest.

I don't think she means stuff/straight/narrow as much as she means it is a RESPECT issue.

For the record, in my last post directed at you, I should have put in a disclaimer as well that I was joking! :P

But as I said here, I agree that jokes with co-workers are okay. But for strangers, it bothers the heck out of me. Oh and of course, the co-worker you can't stand.

I am referring to people that I have absolutely no relationship with.

haha im sooo guilty of this.... but not so much to ppl that I don't know.

For some ppl it's honestly just their character. Maybe they are trying to be someone that they aren't. Or maybe it's cool... All the cool ppl are doing it. :)

i think its really nice when people address people like that,be it in the work environment or elsewhere.Using miss, maam&sir is so stuffy and impersonal.Where i work we`re actually encouraged to not address our customers so formally.

i work for a bank, and banks are pretty conservative even so there are still people who talk like that in my office.

as for me, i dont really mind if people talk like that it its just being personable. what irks me is some of the retard business jargon that flows out of people's mouths

my biggest piss off ever.

I find it really condescending and don't appreciate being talked to like that by anyone because it makes me feel like i'm a 2 year old child.

Fair enough if you've been working together for a long time and are friends but when its a person of authority I find it really offensive

That's because in the call center industry "ma'am" and "sir" invariably come off as condescending.
