I know the doctors fucking up thing...about 6 months ago I went to the doctor cause I hurt my wrist some how...the guy that I saw wasn't my family doctor but a clinic doctor...he told me that I just irritated my wrist and to keep it wrapped and it would be fine in about a month or so. Nope 6 months later and I'm not on anti inflammatory's and another type of med's to keep the anti inflammatory's from eating my stomach. If these don't work I have to see a hand surgin....I hate doctors sometimes.

I find a lot of doctors in clinics are looking to just get you out the door.

The key is to find yourself a good family doctor that is accepting new patients.

My doctor is in Burnaby near metrotown, not the easiest place to get to as I live in the cambie village area. But he's well worth the time to go see.

^ (in response to Jim) Agreed. Even tho I don't live in Richmond anymore, I make the treck in bc I love my family dr. He delivered me! He knows me well and trusts me when I say something is up and what I suspect it is. I have a lengthy medical chart.

the thing is, if you have laryngitis (loss of voice) a dr can't prescribe anything to make it better :(

I agree with you!

I always wondered what is the point of some doctor's when they just tell you to tough it out. "7 day rule" like you said. What is the point of even having them there in those situations! Waste of time going to them.

^ Isnt that better tho than prescribing drugs you don't need and only contirbuting to the super virus issue?

I realize its frustrating to go to the dr and get turned away and told to wait it out, but its better than taking something you don't need! I happen to be someone who ususally needs a prescription so when the dr says I can fight it on my own, that's good.

yah i went to the dr cos i was seriously breaking out in mad hives for a month and i was seriously concerned because my bf was getting them too and she just laughed it off, gave me hydrocortizone and said to drink more water. i felt soo pissed off. it feels defeating because you just want to get better.

and nearly three months later, i'm still all hivey :(

ya i totally agree... allthough ive been misdiagnosed so many times... i had strep for nearly 2 months.. because the 1st couple of doctors said it was nothing... or that it wasnt a strain of strep i shouldnt be worried about... being sick for 2 months because they had no idea what they were talking about was not fun.....

trust me.. i hate taking meds...i dont even take tylenol.. and im prone to headaches and migrains all the time.... i just dont see how loosing ur voice all of a sudden and having chest pains is "ok" .. but then again im not a doctor....*shrug*

this totaly intrests me!
you see, every winter, for the past 5 years i get like hives. sort of. they start small, like a big bug bite, and they swell and hurt until they're 2-3 inches across. it really sucks because they itch, but when you touch them they HURT! and they get HOT!
now.
it gets stranger.
first. they only come in the WINTER!
they first show up in october and november, i still have little scar areas but they'll be gone within a month now.
W-E-I-R-D!
but it gets better.
it's not all over my body....nooooooooooo of course not!
it's only on my the back of my ass and down the side of the outside of my thighs!

so SO fucking strange.

i showed a doctor, they just went "oh WEIRD, if it comes back next year come show me!" arrgh, fucking doctors!

so i thought maybe it was climate influenced right?

that's like half the reason i made sure i went to phoenix all winter.
they showed up before i left, but once i was there i only had one "episode" where they kinda swelled and got a bit itchy.

sometimes on some of them they get like dry skin on top, like the swelling killed the cells or something, like a peeling sunburn but flaky.
and sometimes it's like a deep blood blister slowly surfaced, but only on the BIG ones.

i have about 10-15 on each side (side meaning ass cheek and leg)

WTF IS THIS?

anyone else have ANYTHING similar?

this year was year 5

mine aren't so random.
and it's not like i've been living in the same house, eating the same food and using the same detergent on the same pants for the last 5 years!
in fact, NOTHING is the same as it was before!

i don't know what to do.
it doesn't directly affect my life, but i'm worried it's more than meets the eye! you know?

Yeah! Actually Myra's post interested me too.

I get these little red bumps...verrrry itchy and only in the winter. only on the backs of my legs and the tops of my arms.

A couple years ago my doctor said it was just that "when some people's skin gets dry, it just gets dry....but yours gets angry." Then he gave me some steroid cream, told me to drink more water, not take baths and only lukewarm showers.

But I still get it.

I was wondering if it may be related to stress/lifestyle factors too, cus the last couple years I have been much happier and taking better care of myself and while i still get it in the winter, its not nearly as severe.

mine started off as what looked to be some weird bug bite (i thought mabie bed bugs in barca...) and then BAM a week later my whole body was covered in insanely itchy hives/rash... it took about a month for it to all go away...ive had hives/allergic reactions b4.. but nothing like this..... completley random....the other doctor thought it was some kind of viral skin infection..
u guys could have been/or be experiencing the same thing...

http://dermatology.about.com/gi/dyna...is_rosea.shtml

it sucks cause that all just cleared up and now im sick again with this bullshit... uuuuuggggh. stupid weird euro viruses...
