My story on hives

Yesterday morning >> found a little pink bump on my left forearm. A bit itchy. Scratched it.

Yesterday evening >> found a cluster of three little pink bumps on the top corner of my left shoulder, some bumps on my arms. Quite itchy. Scratched it. Thought to myself "Hmmmm" :047: Decide to wash all the bedsheets and sofa cover.

This morning >> found more clusters of bumps on the back side of my left shoulder, more on my arms. Very itchy. Furiously scratched it. Angry. :242:

At work >> Hot, flustered. Noticing more and more pink bumps. Chest itchy, arms itchy. :097: Go to see a dermatologist to rule out shingles or scabies. Negative.

Diagnosis?

Hives or possibly flea bites. Rule out flea bites :184: as my cats are indoor, and my partner has yet to show any signs in the last 7 days. Have cleaned (spic and span) my entire apartment twice in the last week.

Conclusion?

Hives (k) From what? I don't know. It just sucks, cuz I'm sitting here it utter discomfort, looking ridiculous covered in pink calamine, and not being able to take something is driving me nutso. :014:

Hope you enjoyed my story on hives.

bed bugs?

It's a possibility. I had em in Australia and my boyfriend never got bitten but they drove me mental. If they're really itchy and in groups of 3, they probably are bedbugs. It also makes sense, because they become more active as the weather gets warmer. In which case, you're going to have to flea bomb your room several times and revarnish your bed if its wood. Maybe even get a new mattress. Those things are nearly impossible to kill.

Here's hoping its just an allergic reaction, cus that's easier to deal with and less gross.

:)

I thought of bedbugs too, however, with two sleeping on one bed, and the other not showing absolutely no sign whatsoever would be a bit odd. :(

Thanks guys, but the doc specialist diagnosed "hives", not bedbugs. I've seen bedbug bites, and these aren't it. I run a hospital. I've seen all different types of skin irritants. Just never had hives myself.

Vitamin-X will become famous soon enough
From what I know Hives can result from central nervous system irritation and/or allergic reactions ect

So basically you could get hives from something as simple as being exposed to pollen or perhaps emotional stress :(

It could just be result of dryskin (recent weather changes, overshowering, lack of moisturizing, heat, stress, laundry detergent, food alergy[msg, etc etc])

Well... as a nurse, I already knew what it was. I just went to see the doctor to get a second opinion to rule out scabies or shingles as I work in a hospital setting.

My case doesn't have to do with weather or chemicals (i.e. detergent, etc.)

As for your wrist, your watch my be on too tight, hence the sweat glands are locked in not being able to breathe thus damaging the layer of skin underneath it. Try loosening the watch and take it off and clean the skin whenever the watch is not necessarily needed (i.e. at home).

What kind of treatment you taking? Topical? (i.e. cream) Systemic? (i.e. medications)

Here are some suggestions:

1. Healing from inside: Take Psoriaid Tablets to clean the toxins inside your body to get rid of your psoriasis. It also helps improve your immune system to prevent your psoriasis from coming back.

2. Control from outside: Dead Sea Salt baths helps to restore minerals to your skin. It can help heal damaged skin barrier caused by psoriasis or improper topical treatment.

3. Diet restriction: To avoid the aggravation of your psoriasis, you need to eliminate certain food, which might generate toxins inside your body. These foods include alcohol, coffee, spicy food, shellfish, tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and red meats.

4. Stress management: Try to reduce your stress level by doing exercise; having enough sleep, etc.

I've started oatmeal baths and that helps a lot too. It's fantastic!

Yeah, I did, still around! I used to have a problem with the metal backings from watches. They would cause irratation. So I never wore watches. Then when I started diving, I had to wear a watch. Got used to it. I just recently got a new watch, one a leather band. Thought since there was no metal Id be good. But the rash came around. But kinda different. Im still going to the doctor about it. Sucks!
