Nothing makes me want to snap more then a co-worker who is so useless, that they can't handle the most basic tasks. Add the fact that rather then fire this idiot, the boss puts all the extra work on my shoulders and keeps asking for progress reports.

Who's worst, the useless tit of a co-worker, or the boss that won't fire her...

Try working in a Union where about 30% of the Company does work and the rest of us work twice as hard to keep it going.

the worst is when its like -1 person when the useless person is working... i used to work with this girl that honestly was just useless and made things harder than it would be without her.... there is harmless useless and there is hazardous useless

Duuuude,

The fucking union workers that I have to deal with on a daily basis makes me want to SCREAM. They're 40 year old hospital workers and extremely miserable people. They just stand around and bitch about how everything is wrong, and how bad the company is, blah blah blah, making 20 bucks an hour to just waste company time. I feel like I'm one of the only positive/productive members of the team, and I'm constantly picking up their slack/mistakes. The bosses notice, and trust me, they are trying their best to fire them, but in a union situation, it's basically IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of them.

SO I FEEL YA, BRO <3

But seriously, I Take it as a compliment.... it means you'll be the next one moving forward when that opening for a bigger/better/higher paying position pops up! They put alot of responsibility on me, and I know it's more than what I'm getting paid to do... however, it has gained me some serious respect among the executives, which is perfect for a future career opportunity with this company.

Making my co-workers look lazy gets me through my day..... ;)

I was just given a helper bitch who smokes and chews tobacco. He spits his chew spit in puddles on the floor , and drops his cigarette butts in the puddles to put them out. Right next to the Oxy acetalene bottles. He doesn't help. HE just watches , and when i'm busy somewhere else he finds a place to sit down. When I told him to "grab a broom....keep busy" he gave me a dirty look , scoffed , and sat on the toilet for half an hour. I talked to the foreman this morning , but I doubt anything will happen . The skilled labour and trades shortage in alberta is out of control. THe company i work for is hiring back people they fired last year. And paying them more.

Sometimes the useless people are friends or even related to the people that hired them. I've seen that a few times. They did that a lot at Petro-Canada head office.

There were 2 really bad employees that would always call in sick, slack off ect... and the company decided to hire the brothers and sisters of the two worst workers. And oh, gee...... now there's 4 of them calling in sick once a week..... Seriously, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And now the supervisor constantly bitches about this huge problem that's come out of this, and all I can say is "You guys did this to yourselves! Deal with it!".

If they hired anyone that is related to this person at my work, or anyone who has had any previous contact with them...I'm quitting my job. I just turned down a promotion because it would have made me responsible for dealing with this person. I told the boss to show me the money or show her the door. I'm hoping this doesn't backfire big time.
