Dudes dating girls who don't speak english.

obviously I am a little judgemental to begin with but I always cringe when I meet some dude thats going out with someone who barely speaks english. Same goes for these guys who travel asia and meet some thai girl who they "have so much in common with". WTF? How can you have anything in common with someone who speaks 20 sentences of english. I can't help but judge these guys straight away.

I guess love speaks many languages but in my opinion only when the two people in love are those desperate for a companion.

well yeah if you're not creepy and you want to make it seem like you're dating a girl for more than her ethnicity then you'd want to go for someone with a good command of english and actually be able to carry on adult conversations with them.

My problem is people who live here who can't speak either one of our 2 national languages. Guys or girls. I have no problem with them keeping their native tounge, especially when they've been dealing it with most their lifes. If your going to move to another country, learn to speak the language there.
But that's just my opinion.

Holy shit. It seems like every week theres someone on this site that says something race related thats borderline offensive. Theres so much to think about when it comes to things like this man. Its not like every person who comes over here is to "lazy" to learn the language. English is one of the hardest languages out there to learn and not everyone can grasp it or needs to for that matter. Cultural diversity is very important to people here and I think its great when someone can move here, start a life, and live it to the fullest without having to learn another language. Chances are if you're korean and can't speak english theres someone near who will speak both and help you out. I think its common with most foreign languages. Have some patience! You think these people like the fact that they can't comunicate with you? Its embarresing. Anyways back to the thread.....

If they can't learn english, learn french. Simple, we're the only country in the world that allows you 2 languages to pick from.

You're an idiot. Some countries (south africa for example) have like 7 official languages.

And I don't think it's a matter of "refusing" to learn english...it's not like you just wake up fluent one day, it's hard work. Not to mention it is really really hard trying to live your life day to day when the simplest communication is a struggle, so I think you should cut people some slack.

You've obviously not done much travelling in your lifetime or you'd be a lot more understanding.

I know a white guy who is almost 40 and being pressured by a Chinese girl under 25 to get married, said she would dump him unless they get engaged, so they are.

Unless she gets married she will need to leave Canada when her student years are over. The guy is from a well-off family and must seem rather wealthy to her. So it's not only the guy who is pushing for these unusual (maybe wierd) relationships.

She doesn't speak English very well so it's baby-talk between them 24/7.

Half the members on this board (or more) would eat you for lunch. Learn to be a little more understanding, ok? Just because these people don't speak fluent English NOW doesn't mean that they're not trying to learn. They're not bad people. We're lucky that we come from a country where we're mostly allowed to believe what we want and not be persecuted for it. A lot of people don't have this luxury, and they come to Canada in search of a better life. Most of them work really damn hard for that better life, and I commend them for having the guts to walk away from everything they know and come to a country that they know nothing about other than it's where they may find happiness.

He's pretty stupid if he's 40 and being manipulated by a girl who he can't even communicate with - that is, if he in fact IS being manipulated by her. Maybe she just wants to get married because she doesn't want to leave Canada because that would mean leaving HIM.

People always assume the worst. Maybe this girl actually has really good intentions.
