life in retail
(thanks leah)
you've gotta love: -answering the same stupid question 25 times a day. -customers who ask you a question and then if they don't like your answer decide not to believe you -customers who demand refunds on merchandise when there is nothing at all wrong with it -dresscode -screaming assholes -being treated like a servant -"I demand to speak to your manager!!!" (It's the best when you ARE the manager) |

i had someone demanding to be able to exchange a shirt with a stain on it... i work in a boutique, we check our clothes every night, if somethings on them, they get put in the back. everythings gota be peeerfect. anyways, they even brought the fucking shirt in inside out, when i pointed out the stain they were up in arms about everything, including the store policy thats not only on the receipt but on a sign at the till which at the moment was in front of their face stating "no cash refunds, exchange or store credit" plus it was the owner that sold the shirt to her, so she would have said that at the time of the purchase, and would not have let it sell with a stain.... and if anything the fucking shirt was 40% off....
i could go on. but retail is still the least stressful job i have had to date. i dont mind the odd bitch of a customer. |

- customers who think they are funny
- customers who start to tell you their life story - customers who play the ignorant card when it comes to the price of something and demand to pay the price that they read. - screaming babies/kids - customers who pick shit up and throw it back somewhere else - customers who think a display is a garbage can - customers who smell like a garbage can shit i can go on and on |
|

-customers who brag to me about how much money they have (wtf. i dont care!!!)
-people who come in and say "workin hard or hardly workin?" and then laugh as if it was actually funny -male customers who hit on me or ask for my number (I'm only being nice to you because I'm at work and I have to be, plus I want to sell you something) |

I totally aggree with everything above...but the worst for me is (working in a clothing store) when they try on everything in the store, and leave the change room looking like a bomb went off...who the fuck do you think is going to clean that up....im not your f-ing servant...
Oh, and fat ladies asking to try on size 4 dresses...as freakin if!!! |

There are some aspects of working in a retail environment that I miss, I certainly miss working with younger people, being active and running around and physically helping customers... but it's definitely not an indsutry I personally want to pursue a career in. |
