I have 10 or 20 dollars in late fees but the dude never asked me to pay. I think it was because i looked disheveled after week 4 of term paper stress.

that's the thing, i took out a bunch of books for my term paper and didn't realize that one was a 'fast read' where i was supposed to return it after 7 days, whereas the other ones were 21 days.

...then i took it to russia for two weeks and didn't return it until a week after i got back.

makes it almost worth just buying the book in the first place. i've found that 2 weeks is sometimes not enough, so i just buy the book, so i know i have time to finish it. :)

i actually never use the libarary for pleasure reading (you should see my bookshelf, ugh, i can't stop buying!). i took out several books from the VPL for a paper i was writing...didn't really want to go out and buy them.

If you didn't realize the book was a Fast Read, it's more than likely most of the fines will be waived. Us at VPL tend to be pretty understanding.

oh, i totally understand! i usually buy books i read for pleasure. i would never buy a book for a paper i was writing. but i'm happy to say i don't have to write any more papers! yay to being finished my degree! :)
