..::Dubstep::..
Just wondering how many dubstep heads post on fnk.... Seems like there is an increase of people in vancouver recently listening to dubstep, particularly the idm kids..... If you don't know what dubstep is... I suggest that you look for artists like Loefah, Skream, Blackdown, D1, Kode 9, Digital Myztiks

like any genre, you have the good & the bad. although i gotta say, i've been shocked to see how well dubstep vinyl has been selling at my shop lately. i always assumed it would just be a flash in the vancouver pan, but it seems to have developed a healthy little following.

I've been on the dubstep train for a while now and its affects haven't worn off yet. I'm loving this genre right now and I can't get enough.
Big up the Konspiricy group, Maximus, micheal red, taal mala and others pushing the sound in this city! here is tight mix by JuJu http://www.breaksblog.biz/?p=1228 |

I didn't see you out at the New Forms in Dub or FWD parties. If you haven't heard this music real loud in a packed room with other heads grooving all moving together, you are missing out on the physical nature of this sound. It is meant to be felt as much as heard. You'd be surprised, despite the low bpm, how much energy the crowd has!

I'm sorry but why do I seem to be the only person who finds it to be the most ridiculously BORING genre right now? Maybe if I was extremely stoned and going to sleep or something... People keep calling it hype, but I find it just cannot hold my attention.

The stuff seemed to be selling well at blackmarket in London when i was there. It's a bit hit and miss for me.
Although, i must agree it sounded way better on a large system. They were playing it in an upstairs room at a Grooverider and SS show i went to @ Herbal. |

Here is a tip. I'll use an analogy. When viewing an artist's painting it is usually best to look at the piece as a whole in order to appreciate the synergies each element bring to it, instead of looking at parts of it. Think of dubstep the same way. If you are only listening to small portions of the tracks, the effect of it is lost.

iv just moved hear from the uk, and its good to see healthy talk going on about dubstep.
although i admit on its own dubstep tends to get a bit drawn out. when combined with other generes like heavy breaks, electro or idm it can really diversify a mix, and shift a set between different tempo. dubstep artists to look out for - Toasty, Virus Syndicate, Reso, Tones |
