I've not found many Dubstep Mixes that catch my interest. Hoping this will change my Mind. |

i have heard its picking up in your area! im in Ottawa, the scene here is small, house music seems to dominate clubs. The more established artists hit Montreal, which isnt that far away.
How about grime? how do people feel about it? do you have a scene there? I like grime more than dubstep, though i tend to be drawn towards instrumentals ex Low deep J sweet Kid D. Though the dubstep releases on Dub Police have been really good! Anyone have a sound sample for coki - Burning Marijuana ? i have heard the same, tune of the year! good to hear your holding down your endz in Ottawa, big up! Think the scene in Van sways more to the Dubstep side of things, but i have heard djs playing Grime, and by Grime i mean the more MC based styles , likes of roll deep, wiley, terra danja etc. but the dubby half time sound is big for sure :D as for where dubstep/grime came from , i dont really care anymore. people seem to worry about this alot. Just enjoy the music, it speaks for its self and dosnt need explaining in my opinion, you either like it or not, theres no need to pick the shit out of it . |

This is a little too slow for my tastes...
Some of the deep tones are nice... but i could only see this in a mix as a slow peice rigth before an acceleration... otherwise my body just sits here screaming for some more speed.. a little outburst at least.... the second track is depressing.. lol rainish sound it teh background.. but i can see some attractiveness in the music.. just not my taste |

i hear what your saying there. altho i can listen and enjoy a full dubstep set i very rarely play just dubstep when i dj, i'll usually mash it up with other genres (Breakbeat, techno, electro etc) and use dubstep , as you say , to bring the tempo down before building things back up. still theres nothing like hearing that kind of sub-bass on a big system :D |

I just about did a backflip in my Database/GIS class when I saw this.
HUUUUGE! My April 7th is booked! There's no way I'm missin this. I'd heard a few hints a while ago, and have been on pins n needles wonderin when. The deep pulsing crowd at dubstep parties is what it's all about. I've felt similar at some dnb shows, but not for a long time. Bringin the biggest, heaviest burning lighter I can get! (edit: If anyone still thinks dubstep is 'too slow', check out 'Oscillator' by skream, it's about an hour and a half into his feb 21 rinsefm set, found here: http://dubstep.com.ua/download/Rinse...1_Feb_2007.mp3 One of the sickest, baddest, spine-meltingest tracks goin right now.)
