Fort Knox Five "No More Conversations" remix...

hey anyone who was at the Fort Knox Five / Bassnectar show do you know the name of the remix that they played right before 'Nectar got on stage? It was "No More Conversations" for sure, but it was really hard.

umm

no more conversations is by Freeform Five, not FK5

but i wasn't at the show, so i dunno... if he played a remix of it it was probably their own, most of what Jon plays when he DJs is FK5/FK1000 exclusives...

somehow tho i have a hard time picturing jon playing a Freeform 5 track... or anything 'really hard' for that matter...?

John from Fort knox ended his set with a slew of harder breaks which were almost all unreleased jams!! The track you are talking about is the Stanton Warriors RMX of Mylos remix of No more Conversations by Freeform Five..
Wow, that sounds kinda confusing.

This is exactly why I think Stanton Warriors are freaking tools. What exactly is it about a non-four-on-the-floor beat that makes their remixes so special? Seriously, all they ever do in just about any of their remixes is take some popular house track, remove the four-on-the-floor and replace it with a breakbeat. There's really not much skill involved in it and they never really elaborate much on the original concept. It's like a cheapout for anybody who calls themselves a "breaks" dj and just segregates the ideas of breaks from all other genres of music more.

Why be a "breaks DJ"? Why not just play music if it's good and not DEMAND that every track in your library have a breakbeat?

edit: better yet, get some actual breaks (like the breaks in the songs of old funk records) and just LAYER those on top of the house song, instead of letting the record do it for you?

No doubt. Stanton Warriors are so overrated.

yeah, i hate how every time they come to town to play, they play super fun cheesy tracks that makes the dancefloor fill up with hot girls who i never seem to see at any other nights in town. plus, the fact that everyone recognizes their tunes and (once again) helps to fill the dancefloor is pretty fucking irritating as well.

(that said, i'm not that stoked on this remix-remix, kinda boring tbh)

^^ I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

I'm making no qualms about their djing ability. Just their remix-production values. I even enjoy a lot of their ORIGINAL work, but their remixes are just fucking ass.
