Apex Idol!

Calling all bedroom DJ's......

We have two spots available on the Swing Kids stage for Apex Project 2007. You will be playing alongside some of Vancouver's finest talent. Not only is this a great way to get exposed, you get to play on one of the premiere stages at the event.

Rules for entry:

- You can never have played out at a show or been on a flyer before. Webcasts do not count as playing out.

- You need to provide a short write up of who you are and why you should be the next Apex Idol.

- You will need a 25 minute demo and tracklisting. We don't need a 90 minute set. You must provide a demo. Music is music, all types of music are encouraged.

- Demo's and write-ups must be provided no later than Sunday March 18th, 5 pm. This is when the contest will close, and voting will start.

Feel free to post your bio and demo in this thread, I will re-post it in the new thread when voting is to start.

I will make my least cynical post of the year;

I hope that a good DJ wins this contest. I hope that another genre whore, scenester dumb fuck doesn't.

this DJ should poses good taste in music, mixing skills, and stage presence. they should not play any one genre specifically. who really wants to hear house or breaks for 2 hours any more? if they had any DMC skills to speak of I would be very impressed. this person should also feel free to steal any good ideas they see and improve on them to make them their own. for instance if they used VDJ's as part of their set (Mike Relm) I would be very happy.
