MoS has his back:
Dave Armstrong first found success with 2003’s house classic ‘Make Your Move’ on Eyezcream Recordings, which was picked up and sampled on Junior Jack’s ‘Stupid Disco’. |

As per who ever made the sample... I highly doubt dave armstrong made it as well as dj mehdi. Its just revised in such a way that 1 artist makes it a little bit more unique then the other. After all the majority of the tracks that comes out of the guys from Ed Banger Records use samples from todays music to music in different era's |

To answer your question; I know damned well who Bangalter is.
I'm also quite familiar with the unfortunate frequency with which Dave gets ripped by other artists. For your information, "Love Has Gone" was laid down in 2005 but Dave hasn't really been "in the scene" pimping his shit until early this year because he took some time off to work elsewhere. In the meantime, people keep making music. It happens. It just seems to happen to Dave in a cruelly inconvenient pattern. I'm not going to go into the Kopyright Liberation tirade--I'll leave that argument for my husband. I'll make my point another way: in 2002 Bangalter and DJ Falcon made a French House track under the name "Together" called "So Much Love To Give." They sampled part of a 70's track by an act called The Real Thing. It was awesome: punchy, poofy, filtered bass. Yummy. It was also repetitive as fuck. YouTube - So much love to give - thomas bangalter in 2005 an act called "The Freeloaders" (No shit) took the SAME sample and made...well, pretty much the same track. Not as poofy and a little overproduced, but Pop-y as hell and likable to the masses. It hit the top ten in the UK. YouTube - Freeloaders And you know what? I *like* it. |

And I'll bet it *really* chafes his hide that we all keep generally referring to both tracks as "Out of Touch."

Totally agree, it's not like he wrote something original that was directly stolen. They just used the same sample. It's arguable that both artists that did the sampling are ripping off the original artist that wrote the hook. Who cares who did it first...
