Jack Johnson as a headliner is pretty lame. Lineup might change though. Even if these tickets cost $700 it would still be a steal with all the talent there. I'd be going no mater what the ticket price.

As for the rest of that thread. People are Hyping Mr. Oizo pretty bad. He's been one of my faves on Ed Banger (the only name i knew on the label before i learned the rest of them), not that his music is very listenable, but it's always wild. I've always been curious what he'd be like live.

tell chris that i just read on the message board that pendulum will be doing their live act at coachella this year.

i think the plan is to leave (with dave and brendan) on the 23rd evening and drive non-stop until we get there on thursday night to set up our camping stuff. brendan did this last year with no problem. i left on tuesday evening last year, but didn't get there until thursday night.

if you and chris are down, we could all rent a van. it would probably cost around $150-200 each (including gas) i'm guessing. cost of flying would be around $350. flying is annoying because you have to figure out how to get to indio from lax, or the airport in ontario california.

if for some reason dave and brendan don't end up going, i'm going to fly to SF and make my way down with my friend and his sister.

i'll call you about this soon. it would be awesome if you guys came.

anyway my MC is cocked and ready to rock*charge* on friday but, i must say..the additional 55 dollar camp fee per person per day kinda sorta basically pisses me off.....GOUGE!

it's not per day. camping pass is for the entire weekend (thurs-mon).

edit: you get a lot of stuff for that price, too. there are dozens of first class HOT showers all lined up in rows that open as early as six am and close at one am so people can shower before and after the festival each day. also right outside of the showers, there are rows and rows of outdoor sink/mirrored vanity thingies that people could use to brush their teeth/apply makeup at.

there's a really neat canopy/covered area set up with couches that you can watch movies in. also a few places where you can charge your charge your cellphone and laptop with dozens of charging stations. i would go there, hang out with people watching movies, while charge my phone for an hour or so.

there's also this tent/store where you can buy anything from condoms to toothpaste.

and the obvious food vendors. yummy breakfast burritos and all that stuff.

so all of those amenities. $55 for thurs, fri, sat, sun night. and also meeting thousands of people from all over the world: priceless. :D

oh yeah, it's definitely camping for beginners/socal college kids. only bad part is that you automatically wake up before 7 am every morning due to the heat. your tent becomes an oven.
