short answer, no.
-------- As of January 31, 2008, if you travel to the U.S. by land or water, a U.S. law will require you to present: * a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's licence, PLUS a birth certificate or citizenship card; OR * A valid passport; OR * A NEXUS or a Free and Secure Trade (FAST) card; OR * An enhanced driver's licence; OR * An Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card; OR * For those 18 and under, a birth certificate. Canadian citizens flying to or through the United States must present a valid Canadian passport. A NEXUS card when used at a kiosk at participating airports is also acceptable. Camping is extra. (i think it's $55 instead of $45 this year) But from what i've been reading on the message board, people who haven't booked hotels already wont really have a choice but to camp. Camping is what makes Coachella, imo. You get to meet so many fun people from all over the world. I'm still in contact with a few of them and am planning to try and camp with some of them again this year. Tickets are more expensive than they were last year, but that only means that canadians will be paying the same as they did last year when you take into consideration that our dollar is doing better than it was last year. Although people are pissed that Goldenvoice didn't offer a pre-sale this year to people who attended last year. Pre-sale last year apparently allowed people to save $50. There are a lot of people who are really upset about this year's lineup. Their are a lot of really unhappy people on both the message board and the myspace page...Talking about Goldenvoice Concert selling out (by booking people they think are not headliner material) and compromising the integrity of Coachella's lineup in favour of their new East Coast festival baby. But people who love dance music are extremely excited about the awesomeness that's going to happen in the Sahara (dance tent) this year. There will be a bunch more acts added to the poster in the next few months. That's what happened last year. People got all pissed off at the intial lineup and by March a lot of awesome smaller names were added that got people really excited. Also last year, on top of the main five festival stages and tents, there were two other really amazing smaller areas with electronica acts that weren't advertised on the main poster. Was pleasantly surprised to see: Bassnectar, Paul Harding from Pendulum, Adam Freeland, Jacob Thiele from the Faint, Cut Chemist, and others that escape me right now. I'm happy either way. Road tripping to sunny destinations with good friends is usually a good time. I'll definitely buy my tickets on Friday. This will be the start of an awesome vacation. Leave for Coachella on April 23rd, come home for two days. Leave for Ghana around May 1st and come home around June 1st. w00t. w00t. |

Last year the three day passes sold out by mid February (i think). I bought my ticket a few days before they sold out. People on the message board don't think they'll see out that quickly this year because a lot of people think this year's lineup is a rip off. Also people might just decide to skip Coachella this year and hope for a better east coast festival lineup.
