Propellerhead Record

Anybody else hear about this? Propellerhead finally produced some audio recording and editing software, integratable with Reason, but also with Cubase, Logic, ProTools etc.

Audio nuts are talking about this over on another forum, wondering what you kids think of it.

Also can be tracked for music and whatnot... basically like Garage Band.

seems like a foray into an already crowded market if you ask me... i really don't get why they developed this per se, any capabilities that it would have could already be amply covered by cubase....unless theyre asking a really really low price tag, this seems like a really odd choice!

I think part of the idea is that it's a lot simpler than stuff like Cubase, so that musicians can record themselves without having to know the ins & outs of a fully-functional DAW.

The mixer looks juicy, but the lack of vst support is the real downfall here.

I find the sound quality of the synths in reason is not up to par with alot of the new plugins. Though Dave Spoon's At Night was done entirely in reason though he admits that it was painfull working only with reason.

yea a month ago it was war between ableton live and cubase 5 and guess who won.

Now its a race between record and studio one...


whats the point of them making a DAW when you can just rewire reason as a slave with what you already work with?
