Steve Smooth rawks, from what I hear, hes better live than Badboybill(except without scratching), who he tours with... Hatiras on the other hand is a good producer(although Im not into his style), but his sets consists of his own songs which hes been playing over and over for the past year or two(expect to hear spaced invaders, digital doom and lightspeed)... Id give him a pass =P

the tracks he plays are "the most popular house tracks" yes, but how much of his live stuff have you heard? like that bondi mix i sent you? fuck his track selection was fully appropriate for the occation... 20,000 drunk and high people on the beach with an hour away from new years?!! haha.. but yeah if he came here and played at a club like sonar or the drink (but he would probably be booked for the commodore), its more likely youLL hear fresh promos and dubs. clubbers that are willing to pay a lil extra to see some person plays records on a thursday night (seems like a popular day to have big shows) are generally more educated listeners (like yourself) that demand something amazing thats worth the money they paid for. he knows what hes doing on the decks... he didnt get his pacha residency for nothing.

but seriously mike who gives a shit what tracks he plays. dayam hes got some skills on the decks! he pulls off some sick mixes and his programming is definetly beyond the average dj. i mean if peeps wanna play a fullout anthem set, thats fine, as long they mix em well and program the shit right.

damn i fully agree.... seemed like house to sydney was like hip hop to vancouver. although i didnt get to catch too many house djs, the parties and club events were fuckin constantly lined up with huge names like ian pooley, bob sinclair, MAW, sneak.. damn you name em i'm sure they rolled by sydney last year.

i was busy checkin out drumnbass nights when i was last there but hopefully if i'm able to move out there i'll definetly check out the house scene a lil more.

Funky house and breaks are the big things there. Did you see the lineup for field day on new years day?

Yu's the best house night. But there's tonnes more. Sounds On Sunday at the greenwood hotel is awsome. House on top of this open air hotel roof. Awsome.
Home on saturday nights. Any of the bars in darling harbour with have really great house being played until 1am most nights of the week.
I could go on and on...
