Exactly. Makes me scratch my head at the booking.

The party probably would have gone off more if you'd just axed Bill and given Solarstone and J00F an extra hour each. Would have saved a lot of money too.

It's really hard to mix driving tech trance with funky house. Personally I love both, but I think I'm a pretty big minority in that department.

Either way, I think we can all agree that when 2 of the headliners are trance, it's sort of silly to have any genre other than prog/trance played before/after them. That's the philosophy behind multiple rooms.

Helps to have a bigger more versatile trackselection i guess. Progress from funky house into progressive house, into techno into tech trance.

Dekoze pulls it off all the time.

Of course, but Bad Boy Bill doesn't.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done; hell, even I have a versatile enough box to start at 128bpms and end at 142 in the span of a couple of hours without anyone really noticing a sudden change in genre/bpm count. It's just dumb when you go right from house into trance without any transition in between.

yeah man... i have to say no matter how great BBB is, seems like he pretty much has his sets planned out... all djs can relate to this part i guess having to decide what records you're going to bring to your gig and whether you should play a set like a mix cd or just see what happens and feed off the crowd. BBB in my eyes is the type of dj who has his sets planned out. they are outstanding yes but if the crowd is not feeling house at that instant, it could be disasterous.

being a big dj at that calibre's gotta be tough being booked everywhere so often

Its all good and well to do a freestyled set when all you're doing is mixing, but doesnt BBB do a lot of tricks and what not? you cant just pull that out of your ass on the fly, that stuff has to be somewhat planned.
