ps. re drum=a drum machine on reason
unless "reason" is a noun that still doesn't make sense - besides, last drum machine i used only went up top 240 and you could barely tell the beats apart anyway.

I play both guitar and piano. I only have an acoustic guitar right now, but I've been looking for people to jam out some jazz with on the piano. I listen to alot of punk/hardcore/indie rock.

So if ya want. im up for a jam.

Very likely, but it would all depend on me getting to know you guys better (or at all), if the music you plan on playing suits my voice, if you guys have a mnic for me to sing into because I feel like a dork just standing there and singing.. and it always helps if I have a few beers in my system!

I've sung in public before.. many times, but it was in musical theatre productions etc and in groups (well I've had mini solos but they'd still be in the middle of other girls singing. I guess its just having all that attention placed on my voice that is intimidating. I can do anything else.. dance, gymnastics, public speaking etc.)

Lisa, I have to hear you sing one day damnit!

Ryan, would you ever be interested in putting together some type of loungey jazz swingy ensemble thingy? I'd love to sing some sultry jazz songs from the 30's, 40's etc.

Yeah i think i may be down with that :) Send me a pm or something and we'll chat. Im pretty busy in the next little while but we could figure something out...

If you want to record some vocals and make a house track or some downtempo type beats we could work on something.

Hey sounds cool, I'll give you a shout.

And don't worry I'm pretty busy as well, plus I might want to expand my knowledge and listening of jazz a little before I start singing a bunc but I just don't know what/who to look for and where. I think it's time that I raid my aunt and uncles cd collectioN!

Reason is a piece of music software. Has drum machines and synths and stuff. It can pretty much go as fast as you want, though im not saying thats any replacement for a good drummer of course ;)

yah, sorry, been really busy lately... Mistress, if you and/or Ryan are still up for it I'm down for getting together and trying some jazzy shit - although I doubt I could stay off of my kick drum to the extent that they do in 30's-40's jazz. Hey Lisa, you think you could get you're butt out of Slurrey sometime as well? would be really cool to see what the two of you might be able to slam down. And yah, whenever I jam out by myself I'm always playing that kind of stuff too, just with a slight hip-hop feel to it so I'd fully be down. Ryan, have you talked with Kevin at all out of curiosity?

As for Reason, this brings up a drummer joke for ya: How many drummers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None - they invented a machine that does it for them. **insert rim shot**

sounds like a plan. But I'd be even more intimidated singing with someone who I know is alot more experiences than me though :( Fuck, *I'm such a pussy!

I"m contacting my friend about going back into lessons, I'm sure that will give me alot more confidence. I think all i need is to build up the guts to sing in front of someone (OTHER than my parents or close friends) and actually have them HONESTLY tell me what they think. It's not enough for me having my mother or best friend telling me I sound good, I mean I'm sure I sound good to my mother no matter what sound comes out of my mouth.

what type of music did you want to play in "the band"?

allright then, screw Lisa (i should actually leave that for people who work and live in chilliwack!). You obviously really want to get out and start singing, which is great - but unfortunately the only way to get over the shyness is to just go do it... I'm personally not a very intimidating person (at least I don't think i am) so believe me that won't be a problem. Only problem is havin you singing overtop of just drums would be kinda lame (even with a kazoo medley included) so we kinda need a guitartist or something else at least (i.e. trumpet - *wink wink* Blunted). No guts no glory girl!

whut kinda music? honestly, anything that floats my boat - could be just about anything but i obviously lean more in certain directions (see beginning of thread for influences). I was wanting to do some live drum and bass (just drums and bass, no dj) but could never find people who were serious at all - as I said earlier musicians are flakes, fortunately for me i'm only a semi-flake.
