Lookin for band members...

I'm being trying to get some shit together for some time now but unfortunately most musicians are flakes... I've even tried ads on Vancouverbands.com - played with a lots of people without finding anybody useful, most of them just played classic rock or some bullshit - not my style.

I am a drummer, I play pretty much any kind of music (although punk/harder shit/hip hop have large influences on my playing) and am really just lookin to jam right now more than anything... anybody out there?

where do you live? What do you like to play? Do you have double bass or double kicks?
Me and my band are looking for a drummer, someone who can pull off some fast metal and some mid tempo rock. Fastest song is around 170 bpm. We have a guy whose filling for drums right now, but he's not comitted to the band he's just filling in. We practise mainly in Coquitlam, but are looking into practice spaces in Burnaby and New West.

I need someone to sing with but I'm pretty shy and no one ever needs a female vocalist.

Actually that's a lie, I got an offer once but it was basically only because they wanted a front person that looked good. That didn't make me feel too special :(

i want to learn how to play something. my dad has lots of guitars, two drum sets, pa's, amps...all that shit and ive never bothered

unfortunately that doesn't help me much... sorta lookin for people with a reasonable amount of playin time behind them - but you should pick something up, if you find something you really dig it's a wonderful thing.

i have lots of friends in bands of all sorts, i dont think that would really be my thing. i just want to learn for fun

interesting mix... do you guys do a lot of covers though or do you mostly stick to original stuff - cauz i don't mind the odd cover but i'm much more interested in originals.

No No much more into originals. We have around 7 demos two hard alt-rock (old Nickleback / load Metallica), one thrash (Damaginc inc Metallica ish) , one heavy metal ( Slayer detuned stuff). one rage against the machine type stuff, two ballady songs ( one modern another kinda like Led zepplin) and one progrossive rock. There are a couple Toolish songs in the works too.
I don't mean to make it sound like we are biting those bands styles, I'm just trying to give you a sense of what kind of stuff we're playing. We have alot of covers down just to have a good setlist of covers and originals to play for gigs
