Trance... is it dying?
I look at all these parties right now.
None seem to have trance (other than spooky) So Im guessing that trance is dying in our scene. dj's that keep spinning it will hopefully..... will keep spinning it, (serotonin, trance professors, tragik & akeel, myself) it'll come back boys :) - SoniK

Even though i'm heavy into breaks.. i always have TRANCE and HARD HOUSE in my case...

Everytime a big trance DJ is in town, the club is always packed, and people love it. ALWAYS. Max Graham filled Sonar on a TUESDAY night. Trust me, lots of people in this city dig it, just need to get it out there more.
To think trance will die is also the most ridiculous thing ever. Go to somewhere like Holland, Germany or England and it's THE form of club music. Anyways, I'm importing lots of new shit, just need more venues now to play it in :P

I dont believe trance is dieing in any way at all. I still spin it a lot. But the reason for its recent drop in parties is just because a lot of partie kids just want something fresh and new. (hence breaks and Dnb etc.) But just because it isnt appearing at parties as much there are still a few of us keeping it close to our hearts and dropping it down whenever we can. It hasnt gone anywhere, its just not center stage anymore. But thats alright it will be back, something so beautiful could never die.

I like your music, similar tastes to mine own... do you spin anywhere?
One older track I'm trying to find desperately is Pulser - Cloudwalking (Ferry Corsten mix). I absolutely love that track, but from what I've seen it's next to impossible to find on vinyl, hehe. There's a ton of older shit I want, but I can only afford to either get new stuff or old stuff, and I think buying newer shit is a better idea for the time being =)

If you like old school, I have a PVD comp. called Vorsprung Dyk Technik with tracks from 92-98..everything on the same titled 3 cd set. Plus tracks like Tilt, invisible and a lot of other tracks from back in the day. Enough to drop old school trance for a few good hours.

Not many are reprints either so it makes them that much more special to me.

Hey, Marty.
Trance is in recession just like the economy we have right now. Many big name producers are pretty much moved on to others. There are still a lot of well-known producers making them, you just have to dig them out. Look into other producers, even though they are not necessary small-timers they provide good music from time to time. Check out German's Club Top40 can usually give you a head up on what's been popular and what not. That "Vorsprung Dyk Technik" is the same black packaged vinyl I have at my house. I remember you saw that one. Rapture is good stuff. Record stores can keep up with the stock.
