i don't get that reaction either dave, because in fact i love to work with people that would "rock my ass".... i think you can learn so much from EVERYONE regardless of how much gear they have or how many years they went to school or what the fuck ever.
i still have people come into my studio that make tracks using reason, or even fucking impulse tracker, and everyone has their own unique take, their own production techniques. ego is pointless. it's too bad i didn't realize that when i was fifteen and burning bridges with other djs left and right. |

yeah reason....well for me i just cant get really excited about using this program as a standalone. its pretty frickin powerful and lots of people give up on it before they really use it to its full potential....im one of them.
i just re-wire the bastard into pro-tools casue thats my home and where im comfortable in working. so reason to me is just one big ass kicking instrument. now if you want to write exclusively in reason and you want someone realy good...contact george(krusha). he dose some really nice work in reason. now if you ever want your stuff mixed and masterd then i might be of some help. I just heard a guy who made some amazing stuff done on a (ready for this?) sony original playstation! Set up for sequencing, with a full video playback, his stuff was very cool in a retro-casio kinda way. Its always weird for me to see such a competitive spirit develop around art. Keep the ego in check, keep the flames to a minimum, try to learn from one another. BTW, real musicians do make the best producers, in my opinion

I know a bit about Reason 2.5, not really a beat maker more of an engineer. If you need help mixing, EQ and other forms of engineering I may be of service. Pro Tools 4 Me. Hollah.
Revolver, how well Does PT & Reason 2.5 sync with Rewire? I haven't tried it yet because I don't have PT at home only at school. I heard its pretty phat because u can use any instrument and record directly into PT. `t1m |

^its flawless.....all you do is click a re-wire input in the PT mix window and assign the instrument you want to use....same way as one dose i cubase.
only pt 6.0 and onward support re-wire. so then PT just acts a a recorder for the reason module in use. no more midi arranging, just waves. i love it...just like multitracking a band. |

Those of you loving Impulse tracker or other tracker programs, be sure to check out Buzz (www.buzzmachines.com). It's a tracker on steroids with full VST instrument support (lots of bugs too though, be warned =P).
I've heard some brilliant productions made solely in Reason. Haak, MK-S, Endre, John O'Callaghan, etc have made a lot of top new trance tunes using nothing other. It never did it for me personally, but to each their own. |

^^ Llorca, a big name around the House scene, does all his work in Fasttracker II.
All instruments are tools. But, seriously, synthesizers are among the most useless instruments to learn how to play music on. Soft synths even moreso. All the best electronic musicians I find can play something that _isn't_ a synthesizer. |
