Pioneer DJM-600 Question...
I should probably just ask the man Akeel this directly but why not post here?
So I have a DJM 600 on loan for a bit and in addition to all the playing around that I am doing, I am curious to know if someone knows of an online source that teaches you/tells you all of the kewl sheat you can do with this thing. The manual itself didn't come with it so does anyone have any online resources? Lemme know! |

pioneer pro dj forum the link below has info on the fx unit in the 3000 and 600 models
http://www.pioneerprodjforums.com/ub...=&fpart=1&vc=1 another gear head thread that might help: http://www.djforums.com/forums/showt...232#post185232 another trick that will help is converting a bpm to a delay time in milliseconds the formula is 60/bpm x 1000 = X = 1/4 note delay in ms. so a beat per minute of 120 60/120 = 0.5 0.5 x 1000 = 500 ms 500ms delay will be in time with your 120 bpm rythem learn to use this on the fly when mixing and your off to the races! (I'm pretty sure the djm 600 will do the calulation for you in a certain mode.) |

i useually put the flanger @ 6500 and 32 beats before a break i trigger it and when the break hits i let it go, it brings it right up!!!
with filter, i do the same as above, or put it @ 920 and 8 beats (1 bar) before a break or stale, i punch it and it goes "tiss wish tiss wish" pretty cool effect!! echo---go mauro piccato style, i put it down at 1 then 16 beats before a break i punch it, then gradually (with the beat) turn the time up then back down- great effect! then theres the sampler!--endless, just go down to record, put up the length, record then go to either stretch or loop, and assign one channel to tha sampler!-and go nutts! theres a million and 1 things you can do with this thing! great peice of work!---worth the $2000 fo sho!! |

fuck I have spent a good time coming up with tricks/watching other djs etc. To think you could ask how to perform a trick and POOF the instructions are a url away bothers me.(Not directed towards Kraig) I guess it makes sense though its a more effecient way of learning and now that I think back when learning how to scratch i learned lots online.

you raise a good point, Matt. Its like the whole thing that went down when Q-bert invented tones, and the rest is history. There's a difference between those that make their own tricks and push the limits of their own creative ability and someone that just copies whats been done. |
