that's nice =), do I know you, or have I met you?
"The Pioneer DJM-600 is the industry standard for club/electronica acts specified on numerous contract ryders.." right out of akeels post? Im just stating a fact, he argued with someone, im saying from proof I know the opposite, only dj that I can think of that asked for it was Donald Glaude. Although maybe 3 years ago it was different. But yo, sorry to upset you! As for the ecler it looks nice..., I agree with mux, but until I try it foot in mouth right? anyways closed door, unless someone else wants to jump on my opinion. BTW: anyone try this one out yet? the Denon DN-X1500 http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pho...x1500.jpg&c=31 shakes said some goods things about it to me, supposedly the cellar has it? hows the sound quality, id love to know? man this is a stupid thing to argue about...i for one am not arguing; lets call it a discussion! :) In my experience, both clubs and raves, the most common mixer requested has been the pioneer 600...when i worked at masterplan we only kept 1 a&h in stock and it sat on the shelf 90% of the time, meanwhile the 6 Pioneer 600's were always out on shows. The majority of the ryders i've come in contact with have primarily specified a Pioneer 600, but thats only what i've seen doing production for the last 5 years. Kyle, I said the Pioneer appears on numerous ryders, period...just cause its not on every one you see @ sonar doesn't mean its not a popular mixer. Btw, doesnt Donald's ryder still want a Vestax 07? guess he upgraded. Also Kyle, I think you'd like the ecler, its very versatile with a clean sound. I was a bit wary of the USB fx editor at first but so far its working without a hitch. :D I've tried the Denon out, and yep they got it in the cellar. Denon's overall build quality is great but this is their first venture in making a high end club mixer with fx, so i dont know if i would go out and buy one just yet. Usual assortment of toys on there, but the matrix inputs is what everyone is raving about. Last edited by Akeel; Sep 03, 04 at 10:55 AM. |

nah man, big difference between the pioneer 600 and the xone:62. Pioneer has more fx but sounds like shit compared to the A&H...A&H Xone:62 really has only 1 effect but it has a 4 band eq and more dedicated mixing channels. They're really a different breed of mixer. A Pioneer you can scratch on and do a multitude of fx and sampling. A Xone:62 is more of a mixing instrument - great for doing those 10 minute mixes. The new mixers coming out have a lot more room for creativity though, like the ecler this thread is about and the new denon and the a&h xone:92. |

I have read almost every major touring Dj's ryder and I can tell you that only three mixers ever show up.
1) Allen and Heath 2) Rane Rotary 3) Pioneer DJM600 The DJM 600 seems to be the most common and the favorite of proberly 90% of the dj's currently touring. The rotary is used by about 3% and the rest like the sound of the allen and heath. In my personal experience I find that the A & H board has superior sound quality but lacks in the ability to remix and give the dj the freedom to be creative on the fly without bringing in other components. The Rotary is a good board but hard to navigate if you are unfamiliar with it and again no added options. The pioneer 600 has decent quality of sound but packages alot of additional options into it that makes it the most popular by far. That's my two cents |
