I haven't watched it in a year, but when I did, the VJ was the poster child for why you shoudn't do E. She used to dance alot while throwing to videos, and she had the presence of a ten year old. They played alot of PPK and esthero.
Worst channel ever, and a poor representation of electronic music. |

The bpm:tv deficencies are an opportunity for someone to improve things.
The problem with TV is that it is a visual medium while music is only audio, and this channel relies too much on music videos that can be played only so many times before people get bored. So if they want to show for example what Marco V has produced, all they can do is show the 2 or 3 music videos that he has, while he might have produced 50 other tracks or mixes for which there is no video. To their credit BPM has aired hundreds of EDM videos and introduced many people to this music, and done a good number of quality interviews with big and small DJs and producers, and you won't see those videos or interviews on channels like MuchMusic or MTV. BPM right now though has lost its way and is trying to become more like MuchMusic - very bad move. PS the manic blue haired girl - Vishanti - is still there but has calmed down her performance and now has natural black hair with a token blue streak. But they fired their main music guy Cinar (DJ Fuzion) who did all those interviews. |
