I think it's a popularuty contest as opposed to a mixing capbility contest.

We got locals better then Digweed and I'd put my money on that.

Kind of like People Magazine's 100 Most Important People where Russell Crowe is more important than Queen Elizabeth. Who knows where the skill lies.

Ummmm, saying we have locals better than Digweed is a pretty bold statement. Better at what, playing music? The reason guys like Digweed are #1, and local DJs aren't, is because they're immensely popular, get tunes that no one else gets (months, sometimes years before anyone else gets them), and mix them very, very well. Sure, if I throw down a flawless mix it won't be any worse than a flawless mix from John Digweed, but that doesn't mean I deserve to be the #1 DJ in the world either.

And that's not to mention Sasha... that guy is incredible.

Hmm.

Good to see guys like kraft kuts, dieselboy and the plump djs on that list. It's too bad there aren't more like them. Blah. There should really be a lot more recognition for breaks and jungle djs...it's so much fucking harder to mix breaks and jungle in comparision to trance and house. That's why I learned on trance and moved up to better things.

Sean, thanks for the laugh.

I am aware of that.

Better at what, playing music?

Yes, playing other people's music.

The reason guys like Digweed are #1, and local DJs aren't, is because they're immensely popular, get tunes that no one else gets (months, sometimes years before anyone else gets them), and mix them very, very well.

Well duh. Maybe you should read over what you're typing man, I mean, you just admitted that they're #1 because they're immensly popular. Like is there a fucking echo in here?

And not better then others I've seen, Flave for instance, could kick his ass in a mixing contest any day of the week.

As for them getting records that nobody else has for like a year sometimes. Well, let me think here, duh. What does that have to do with mixing again?

Sure, if I throw down a flawless mix it won't be any worse than a flawless mix from John Digweed, but that doesn't mean I deserve to be the #1 DJ in the world either.

But it means that he does?

And that's not to mention Sasha... that guy is incredible.

Maybe your right, but it's still a popularity contest not a mixing contest.

Right so Fatboyslim, Andy C, Sneak or Hype don't count? That's a bold statement.

Blah. There should really be a lot more recognition for breaks and jungle djs...

There is, you're just being ignorant.

it's so much fucking harder to mix breaks and jungle in comparision to trance and house.

Biggest load of shit I've heard all week. First time I tried mixing into dnb it was pretty much flawless. I was already djing at that point for about 2-3 months but I found it very easy matching at the snares, as for breaks I have no idea why the hell people say they're hard to mix. Be it nuskewl of florida funk or electro.

MIXING IS A CONCEPT! IT'S ALL RELATIVE!

That's why I learned on trance and moved up to better things.

Better for you, sure, and fo others too I guess. Who gives a fuck as long as you're having fun right? The funny thing is all you li'l self proclaimed junglists don't know shit all about the history or scene that is dnb. You claim it's better or more superior then other music but you don't back it up with any facts and you say it's more complicated or intelligent but then go bust a move to some shitty ass jump up. What a fuckin' joke.[b]

Sean, thanks for the laugh.

No no no no, thank you.

Mark, shove it.

You're a pretentious jerk 90% of the time, it's sick.

I never said that I was better than any other DJs because I spin breaks and jungle...my point was that I prefer those genres and to my knowledge (personal experience, opinions of other djs) they are more difficult to mix.

As well, I said "guys LIKE..." Three DJs off the list were mentioned as EXAMPLES. Learn to read for christ's sake!

I'm not even going to bother...you're -always- right no matter what you say, Mark. Even when you've got no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Mark, shove it.

(Here we go!)

Where? WHERE!?

(ammends you for originality)

You're a pretentious jerk 90% of the time, it's sick.

That's funny you're saying that since you don't really know me. The fact that I gave you my opinion about how I viewed this situation (which you initiated by thanking this Sean fellow for a laugh) makes me a jerk. Well, maybe you felt offended, but one turn deserves another (and I don't recall spouting any aniane name calling). Atleast I post with intelligence in mind and TRY to be respectful.

I never said that I was better than any other DJs because I spin breaks and jungle...

I know, neither did I.

my point was that I prefer those genres and to my knowledge (personal experience, opinions of other djs) they are more difficult to mix.

Who the fuck cares? Do I go running around saying 'Klubb is King - Jungle sucks ass'? No. Because I know that someone would feel offended.
You might of not said it like that, used a euphmism no doubt, but you obviously made it out (quite obvious in the manner) that broken beats are clearly BETTER then trance.
I also like those genres too, (I even spin breaks) just not some of the attitudes developed within them.

As well, I said "guys LIKE..." Three DJs off the list were mentioned as EXAMPLES. Learn to read for christ's sake!

As well, you said "It's too bad there aren't more LIKE <----------- them" (And reading happens to be a hobby of mine, excluding message boards).

Now maybe I made an assumption, but holy fack this sounds alot like there weren't more DJs on that list and clearly there was. I'm personally happy to see some djs I admire not on that list, better to keep it underground, if even a little.

I'm not even going to bother...

I know 'cause I would crush you. And by typing this you actually did bother.

..you're -always- right no matter what you say, Mark.

Cool! I was not aware of that!

Even when you've got no fucking clue what you're talking about.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! This is coming from you!? That's really rich!

*phew*

And just a li'l disclaimer for the end:

My orginal reply was not to single you out or make you feel offended. I'm sure that happened, but if you could repy maturely then I would break it down for you in that manner.

I won't do this again if you won't front a leetist attitude in conversations being genre vs genre.

I mean we're all in this together. Weather you be a glowstick connoisseur or a rolling up one pant leg rasta.

PLUR!

No hard feelings!!

*rolls eyes*

1. I thanked Sean for the laugh, because in my opinion, the djs that he mentioned don't deserve the recoginition they get in comparison to other DJs.

2. I know enough of you. I know the things you've done in the past before I knew you in the "rave scene" and in my opinion, you're too much of a self-righteous jerk. Remember the conversation we had about god? And you wouldn't give up on trying to convince me that there was obviously such a thing? That's just a perfect example of how you can't let other people have their own opinions.

You know, it amuses me that you find it okay to criticize me for making reference to a person rather than a topic, then just turn around and do the same thing. That, my dear, is "rich", not the fact that you seem to think you know more about everything than everyone else. Wait - - that is also "rich".

As for my "leetist" attitude...I prefer to be referred to as having a 1337 attitude. Bahah. That's fucking gold how you could say that someone has an elitist attuide! Look in a mirror man...oi.

I'm done with this...my stomach hurts from laughing at your sad excuses for rebuttals.

EDIT: by the way:

Cool, maybe I was being a bit paranoid/over-sensitive. Sorry.

2. I know enough of you.

You don't know my favorite colour, the books I read, where I go for the weekends, why I started partying, why I believe that sex is evil, my spiritual beliefs, -anything-. The fact is you have maybe a handful of experiences with me and in a few we didn't get along because we are -both- opinionated and there was a time where I didn't want to admit my wrongs. Something I'm glad I can say that -I- grew out of.

I know the things you've done in the past before I knew you in the "rave scene" and in my opinion, you're too much of a self-righteous jerk.

Why, because I liked your friend and not you cause she looked older?

Okay that was a bit shallow I have to admit it. I'm just glad I'm not that person anymore.

It's too bad though how this has absolutely nothing to do with what I was trying to get you to refer to.

Remember the conversation we had about god? And you wouldn't give up on trying to convince me that there was obviously such a thing? That's just a perfect example of how you can't let other people have their own opinions.

I don't really remember that. The only thing I can say is if I was being stubborn in letting the conversation flow, sorry. I am a lot more grown up now.

I can tell you now though that I feel strongly about the creation issue simply because people that live without respect to a force greater then them (or a Creator) usually love the world. Love only the world and all the materials in it. All the plastic in this planet will melt one day and our bodies will be eaten by worms. But our thoughts and souls will carry on, the mindset I have is what I take with me and that's something very, very important to me.

*takes a dramatic pause not unlike Montel*

You know, it amuses me that you find it okay to criticize me for making reference to a person rather than a topic, then just turn around and do the same thing. That, my dear, is "rich", not the fact that you seem to think you know more about everything than everyone else. Wait - - that is also "rich".

You're going to have to elaborate this if you want me to understand 'cause I don't know where the corrilation is in my supposed hypocracy. If you think it's worth your time that is.

As for my "leetist" attitude...I prefer to be referred to as having a 1337 attitude. Bahah. That's fucking gold how you could say that someone has an elitist attuide! Look in a mirror man...oi.

Please tell me of my 1337 attitude, as far as I know, I was trying to get you to realize how foolish such mindset are.

You completely missed the point, alas.

I'm done with this...my stomach hurts from laughing at your sad excuses for rebuttals.

Kay I had my fun, I ain't laughing anymore. If there is one thing I could have you take from this situation it would be that you realize that you may have your preference - but not to go flaunt it like it's better then other peoples.

Maybe better for you, but not for everyone. I admitted my wrongs, you should try it too. It feels better then getting high on one's ego.

I'm now being civil here so consider it in that manner.

How convenient that you don't recall it. Try reading over your posts maybe!

I just did. What I said might have offended you, but they weren't thoughtless name calling one liners like your posts were riddled with. If you looked beyond your personal anger to my comments you would have seen an even stronger message.

Be it: Some people like trance or house. Saying your preferences are better is like saying red is a better colour then blue.

Just try and remember that.

We're in this together.

PLUR

It's too bad the list was compiled inthe UK where most people listen to house and trance. Kraft kuts, dieselboy and the plump djs were lucky to even make the list.

My god, MP galaxie is really mad at you. :snyx:
