CDs CANNOT handle the same range of sound as Vinyl. ESPECIALLY on a big system. Regardless.... a Trance DJ on CDJs? How fucking lazy can you get? |

I think it's the Sanctuary Remix. Seriously, look it up and see. You don't know how long I insisted Sasha and Diggers remixed Enjoy The Silence before I found out the mix I was looking for was Mike Koglin - The Silence (Tekara Remix). |

Silence did appear on Northern Exposure: Expeditions, but on the UK version only.
And it's Delerium - Silence. McLachlan was a guest vocalist on it. It was only after her stardom grew after that song's release back in '97 that the 'featuring' was added to it; I guess they figured they'd push more copies that way if they showed in plain English that a star was featured on their track. As for remix credits, there isn't any mention of it on the actual release, but they messed up a number of remix credits on Expeditions anyhow so it probably is the Sancturay Mix by Fade, as that was the only remix done when Expeditions was released in '99. Of course, it is possible Sasha & Diggers got a pre-release promo of the Airscape Remix a year before it officially hit the streets as well. |

One note here.
Sasha and Diggers were also notorious for using Protools in their recorded sets. Normally this would be frowned upon (as say, in the case of Jokenfold), except these guys used the tools to enhance and add to the tracks instead of merely correct inefficiencies in mixing. As a result, the final result of Silence may have turned out different than the original record (be it a remix or a real mix). If this is the case, then yes, the track will sound different than any mix given thus far, however, there is no actual vinyl of said track (hence why it would be so rare: it doesn't exist!). I still highly suspect that we're dealing with the Sanctuary Mix. Christ, I think I remember someone pointing me in the right direction back then on alt.music.trance when I posted saying how great those songs were, and they told me the actual mix was Sanctuary. I went and downloaded, and huzzah! He was right. Only way I was able to find the full version of the song... For the record, Farshad has that vinyl. He used to play it at Cheeky Classics all the time. |

Incidentely, bringing up Fade also brings up one of my favorite trance DJs: Chris Fortier, one half of Fade.
Check out this DJ release of his, imo one of the best trance sets I've ever heard: 1. Kolo - Pattern Of Sound 2. Devol - Rude Spaces 3. Hyper X - Out There (Steve Porter Spacedrum Mix) 4. Steve Porter - Innerpulse 5. Sugerglider - Let Me In (Cass & Slide Remix) 6. 3 Monkeys - Crazy People 7. Mara - Fall From Grace 8. Tranceiver - RPV 9. Max Graham - Yaletown 10. Memnon - Desire 11. Memnon - Orchis |
