What music would YOU like to hear more?

Let's face it, Vancouver is somewhat of a bore unless your looking for simply house or hip hop music. Other then those 2 genres, what type of music would you like to hear more at events in and around Vancouver this summer?

ambient/chill out... as far as I know, there is really only one group of people doing ambient in vancouver (tribal harmonix) and half their time is spent in the sunshine coast... if I look at any given rave flyer, I'll almost always see a dnb or breaks room... very rarely (if that) do I see chill rooms on flyers... I mean, I could be wrong, but man... give chill a chance!

In an actual answer to your question:
I really don't care what's played at a party/club, as long as it's GOOD. I like breaks, house, techno, DnB, Hip-Hop, Rock, etc. as much as anybody... but it just sucks when you go to a party and it's nothing but Tech House all night. Just.... keep some variety in what you do, right? JUST AS LONG AS IT'S GOOD!

I'm going to Pressroom tonight. I swear if I hear Freeland's mix of Smells Like Teen Spirit or Call on Me one more time I'm going to chop off clubber heads until they change the music.

good thread. im wondering if its possible to find a bar/club/pub whatever that plays 80's music. vancouver has alot of scenes, but the only time i get to listen to the good old 80's music is when im at home, because no one else will play it. when im at work, i usually listen to 103.5 because they are more likely to play 80's than say Z or the beat.

bottom line: raul wants more 80's music

i think it's not the genre that matters it's more like i wanna hear DOPE fresh shit with djs who can hold a diverse set together and maintain a good flow.

i'd like to see funky breaks and bumpin house at clubs more. mixed with hip hop, rnb, reggae all that shit. just as long as the flow is right, the tracks are either fresh or really really dope anthems, it's all good. none of that cheesy seriously played shit. gotta be next level shit or else it's boring.

I'm with the ebb'd one on this. Play everything. There's a fuck lot more than just two or three main genres of music to be heard in a given night.
