Firestar - "Tripwire" Rmx - Feedback plz! (D&B)
Okay so I'm in a remix contest and this is my entry.
I did not listen to the original until now, as they wanted diversity in the remix, so it sounds nothing like the orig. The track is called "Tripwire". Looking for feedback on this one please! Original track.. http://www.ynotcall.com/SCHIZOMIMETIX_tripwire128kbpsMP3_fREESTY LE_rECORDINGS_2004_SIDEWAYSMIXDOWN.mp3 F*ck yeah! Now for something completly different! Firestar's crazy fucked up remix.. haha.. www.djfirestar.com/tracks/tripwire_rmx.mp3 (DUB) You could say, I've Dj Hyped it up a bit :D Peace & respect. Great remix.
here are a few things to consider: - add a little feel to your kick! i do admit its kinda groovin', but maybe just dub a basskick on every 4. - Pay attention to your layer amplitudes. around 1:10.. the bass is clipping/distorting. I'd say turn it down ~ 2.0 dbSPL. - around 2:10.. GREAT dirty sounding bass. but again, something is distorting. - right before the dirty bass hits, I think a breakdown would be more fitting than the build up. I thought the build up sounded a bit cheesy (as if you pressed Fill on a PA-80). I suggest you give it a breakdown, and have the bass from the first verse going with a pan effect. have the "this is a remix" sample going.. then have it get a little fucked up. break and play on the vowels, and then BAM! bring on the beat with the dirty bassline. just an idea. great job though! lemme know how it goes! - |
