SEKOYA at the jazz festival

I've been a fan for about 2 years now.. and I went to check them out today at the art gallery! WOW.. they are totally my favorite local band.

The vocalist has got a very exotic voice. A+

I was there for a bit until the rain totally drowned us out
what an amazing show...that girl has such a beautiful strong voice. I think I'm defienately looking forward to seeing more from them :)

Yeah Sekoya is such a unique group.. and it's so dope they're from Vancouver!! They have been nominated for a Juno and have won a Canadian Music Indie Award!!! They also recently shot a video for their song fugitive peices... which I still haven't seen =(

If you like Sekoya, you might also like a group called 1LUV, they also perform at Ginger here and there... Amalia Townsend who is the vocalist from sekoya is also in 1LUV, as well as Deanna Teeple from Triple 3 and another vocalist Jzabela. Can't forget to mention Dr J who is the man behind it all.
