Just listened to The Decemberists - The Tain EP.

Not bad. A couple of songs that really grabbed me... kind of somewhere between Radiohead and Neutral Milk Hotel... Pretty cool.

Why am I the only person who mentioned Ugly Casanova?

I'm bumping this thread to get all ya hipsters onto it. Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse was approached by a fan, pen name of "Ugly Casanova" and gets handed a set of lyrics. Brock liked the words so much he grabbed a buncha west coast musicians together and formed a band out of it.

The album that came as a result is entitled Sharpen Your Teeth and it ranks #2 IMO of Isaac Brock's best albums (The Moon & Antarctica ranking first).
