I really hate jump-up. It's only good when you're fucked on pills. Neuro or STFU ! |

Ram made some big hits back in the day that was just dnb dude, ppl took it as it was. Ram took shit like neurofunk and made it more accessible to the masses.
Pendulum took the reese and the wobble, mashed it up, polished it up real nice and the rest is history. And yeah all the NEW neurofunk is big room. Production, hype, intensity.. its all there. |

Neurofunk to my ears has been evolving for awhile from older dark techstep. Noisia, Phace, Calyx, Teebee are all on the forefronts. Pacific and Psidream our locals as well. Remember Centepod? Check out Teebee - snakefunk. The synths are insane. Neurofunk usually has rolling distorted basslines like in Teebee & calyx - cyclone. The synths carry the bass and make it funky but with tech. Neurofunk.

Pendulum in my mind is the epitome of the "UK dancefloor banger" |

I never classified Pendulum as neurofunk. Pendulum has made one neuro like tune which was 'sounds of life' the sound has a lot to do with the bend of the bass line and how its complimented by other bass tones through out the track. The more complicated shit thats put there like Noisia 'the tide' and 'believe' is being classified as science funk due to its complexity, something pendulum lacks.
Pioneers of neurofunk came from the tech step days of the late 90's. Shit like Ed rush & optical, matrix, teebee, c4c, stakka and skynett each contributed to the structure that is todays neurofunk. Decypher hit the nail on the head. He's a smart cookie. Again, Pendulum is NOT neurofunk. |

I can sit here all fucking day and list of tunes that are highly classified as neurofunk. maybe you should stick to spinning trance, at least that music is easy to dsci4: wank, and extra wank. |
