hmm good question mang. You know admitedly when i think psychadelic dnb, i think i may be leaning more towards the downtempo/minamalist, soundscape early sounds of dnb- which i guess could be prescribed to as psychadelic, but im sure that looking for "ambient, melodic" stuff might lend to a greater set of more accurate results, but ill give it a shot-

like i said im reminded of older tunes, that came earlier in my life with dnb, such
as;

Fanu, Grooverider and Goldie, but the goldies INCcredible sounds of..., and GR's Mysteries of Funk.

the likes of early moving shadow artists like Black Rain, twobadmice, and Omni Trio. I know whenever im in the mood for some chill, next level relaxation kinda tip, "Byte Size Life" still comes out for special appearances.

You, i dont think it would be clearly under the label of psychdelic, but most of Photeks early stuff was just sonically amazing and minamalist, such as "form and function"

Im sure the likes of dom+rolands "industry" might not be top on the charts for "acid trip music" but i tell yeah, its mos def worth a listen, for some really cool downtempo, tightly composed grooves.

Im also mos def thinking of the one Amit with the south asian grooves, perhaps Blu Mar Ten as well. The likes of 4hero, and Seba, should definetly provide some stuff that you are looking for. I might even go so far as to tell you to check out some early Aphrodite and Rap, but if anyone asks, i aint said shit!

A bit of a stretch, but maybe some dubbed out stuff might be up your ally? Regretably im not super versed in that world as id like to be, all i can really offer is the likes of King Tubby, Sly+Robbie, Lee Perry,

Im thinking some newer school soundscape artists like the Monolake or the almight Venetain snares? There gotta be some jewels amongst the breakcore racket. But i think with these cats, tracks like your looking for may be rare.

I hope this gets you in the right direction. Be sure to hit up the likes of Kuma, and mikey red back in the nwdnb, i garantee they can send some beauties your way.

pretty much similar to the artist that Fable recomended, a lot of the psychedelic stuff that isn't too hyped up by commercial dnb.

That last one is some straight tech for ya ppcock. There is way more where that came from too. These tracks definately have that techno element i think your looking for. Artirts like rawfull and black sun empire have made lots of dark tech stuff in the past i'll post more links if you want. I got a wealth of this stuff sitting around on my harddrive.

im probably thinkn theres a few illskillz and early concord dawn stuff that may fit the bill, although it may be a touch to "trance'n'bass" as well as some ...oo oo im forgetting the name of the crew--had tracks like "ode to the amen" and "spinechilla" ...Rareform! theres a few epic moody rollers that definetly have a little bit of the psychadelic edge to it--

sorry, those are really the only artists I know of, considering that I'm really not a big fan of "breaks"...

hmm... perplexing.

Considering the psychedelic aspect would probably "work better" while in the erm... appropriate state of mind, ya think?

I wouldn't know about that these days tho. I dont' do drugs.

Either way, I immediately thought of T-POWER's album "The Self Evident Truths of An Intuitive Mind" (SOUR - 1996), for a full on listening experience. And a full LP/CD too, rather than just random trax. One of the more innovative jungle/dnb albums released for sure.

Other than that, its hard for me to put my head around this concept, haha. I USED TO DO drugs & listen to music quite a bit, so I'm trying to remember the kicks I used to get listening to tunes completely fucked up, and all that. Put my mind back in that "addict" stance, yeah? lol

You can maybe lump any overt DUB sounding tune in this topic, but that's a bit too obvious. Yeah, dub is all echoes, reverb, and green, sure. But I still listen to dub , and most dubwise influenced stuff, but I NEVER smoke herb anymore. So maybe that particular inference is a bit cliche here.

I honestly never think of dnb in terms of drug addled music, EVER. Which I know TOTALLY goes against the opinions & experiences of alot of people, heh. Just my personal reality. I even spin breakcore, but I'd never think of 'Snares as psychedelic, but I doubt he's ever produced a record sober, or sober minded more like, lol. Living in Winnipeg would do that to ya. Either way, I couldn't imagine listening to the more extreme breakcore sounds while high, its the antithesis of what you'd want, its too edgey. But that's just me. heh.

Anyway, psychedelic dnb...

I'll binge this weekend, play some rekkids, and get back to ya.

theres tracks by the colkrushn FUTUPROPH that resemble a pschadelic sound? Definetly NOT anything on Warlords rising that i can think of? Althouth there are too semi, cerebral/easy listening tracks in "deceived" and "september" Could you give a few titles for more of their "pschadelic feeln" tracks?

MAV : Me against the Machine(vs Spinor remix) - :)

Future Prophecies have made a few kinda psychadelic tracks, even some on the 'Warlords Rising' series imo..

'Jack The Groove'
"Black Dragon'
'Miriamba'
'Let The Bass Kick' with Teebee
'Aftermath'
'Insomnia' (more trancey though)

Man, Future Prophecies make some crazy shit, I'd love to see 'em!!

Also add some older Break and Silent Witness stuff on No U-Turn, it was really cool stuff as well (Higher Rates!!!)
