madonna - confessions on a dance floor.
well madonna is getting ready to release her 'confessions of a dance floor' on november 15th with the single 'hung up'. never been much of a madonna fan as she has never appealed to me, but on the way to work i got to have a listen to her first single from the disc 'hung up' and i actually enjoyed it. amazing production, strong beat, vocals were done perfectly. i can see this getting a lot of air play and TONS of rotations in the clubs. got remix? wanna have a listen? download below. http://s10.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1...G2BGHB43EPNMV1 discuss. |

the single is pretty good but i thought it was kinda repetitive and after listening to it a couple times I think i might already be sick of it, might be because the beat and Z are over playing it... but i heard the whole album was electronica so thats cool.

well, the critics are actually loving this... the biggest critic of the Vancouver music scene, Martin Turenne of The Georgia Straight, actually wrote a really good review of this album this week (see this week's Georgia Straight) and something like that, coming from him, means a lot :-) When I first heard the press release ("... this is going to be the future of dance music, combining elements from the past blah blah blah blah..." I was going to barf. I thought the whole thing was so gimmicky. I specially found Hung Up to be over produced, and I found the use of the ABBA sample to push the marketing press release and the whole "the past of dance meets the future of dance" totally lame... Now that I have listened to some more of the album and found out that Mr. Lu Cont is behind this album, it is a whole different story... He has been my favorite since I first discovered his production work... over the last year, everything this man has touched has been on my DJ play list. So yeah, I have been a huge Madonna fan since the 80s, and also a huge Stewart Price fan, and now that two of my favorites have gotten together to make an album, that only means this album ROCKS!!! :-) -f.
