Stuart Price is a god.

Between Les Rhythmes Digitales (Darkdancer is one of the albums that defined the entire electroclash movement in europe), Jacques Lu Cont, Thin White Duke, and now Madonna's new album, the guy has pushed the electroclash sound beyond any. Granted, usually this means that the movement is on its way down (same thing happened with Trance when Ray Of Light came out, same thing happened to French House when Music came out....), Madonna still manages to always pull a respectable producer from the whole movement for her work (I mean, cmon, Mirwais??? Fuck yeah!).

I like this whole album. It's wicked. Anybody who says otherwise can choke on it.

Why so much hate for ABBA? I think this album is awesome, except for the vocals. My favourite track is Isaac, very very good beats, does anyone know if I could somewhere find a version of this album WITHOUT Madonna's vocals in it? I'd be most thankful.

^I'm down with the ABBA too, it's the absolute best for (girly) roadtrips, where you just sing along at the top of your lungs...The cheesier, the better.

I think my fave song on Confessions Of A Dancefloor is actually Push.

Search on Soulseek for "thin white duke". You'll find a lot of Stuart Price's more recent remixes. I highly recommend the following:

i think that Hung Up is housey....just listen to the beat, it's totally house style....if I had it on vinyl i could beat match it perfectly with almost any of my house records......but yeah it is kind of gay and ABBA-like.....and definately overplayed which makes it only good for remixes now....or maybe in like 5 years for a comeback

it's house because it has a kick on every beat and an off-beat hi hat. anybody who says it's not house don't know house.

i've been a big fan of Jaques Lu Cont for years, but i don't like this track. maybe if i didn't know where the sample came from i'd feel differently, but i doubt it. That whole glitzy, over-blown euro-pop disco scene that brought us Abba is not a sound i need to re-visit. It was bad enough at the time, bringing it back with a Madonna vocal is not helping!!

if any pop stars release an album that pays respect to the underground sounds of the disco era, a la arthur russel, larry levan, steve d'aquisto... please let me know!
