Ableton Live 5 is AMAZING

This software is amazing, i was just playing around with it, and it is amazingly Easy To Use, very user friendly. The best ever. Im going to exchange my copy of Cubase for Ableton ASAP. This software is the best for beginners. It teachers you how to use certain aspects of the program to your advantage.

yes it supports vst's . And even with the stuff ableton comes alone is actually pretty good.

Alot of IDM/breakcore/experimental artists use ableton live. During the laptop battle at sonar a while back there was this guy who had ableton and my god.... the way he had this thing configured and how he was using it was absolutely fucked up.

I use Sonar. Tried Ableton a couple of months back and couldn't make sense of it at all. I really shouldn't be putting off learining it cause of it application durring live/hybrid dj preformances. How flexible is the internal mixing board?

ableton live honestly sucks

the programming sucks, feels like a toy to me.

all the VST programs I try and implement into it crashes the program. It's very unstable with VST plugins, so I prefer cubase instead.

Live rules. It's the first piece of software I've actually paid for since OS/2 Warp 2.1 back in 1995. I switched over from Logic, and for the first time ever my drum machines are playing happily with my guitar. :)

live is pretty sweet but, having learned off reason and cubase, its really hard for me to get used to... I think I might play with it more if I get a pedal controller... then I'd be able to do live ambient improvisations...

may be a problem with your system, i've never had that issue. although if you're doing stuff with a lot of VSTi's, Cubase would definitely be a better environment... i prefer writing tunes in Logic, but Live is great for blending, remixing & re-editing stuff. I've never tried using it for a live performance, but that's not really my cup o' tea anyways. It's definitely been useful in the studio.

Live is HANDS DOWN the best sequencer you can get. I have released vinyl using cubase, logic, acid, fruity loops, and reason and it totally owns them all.

don't listen to the haters, they don't understand it at all. ableton is DEFINITELY not a toy (tho it is a lot of fun)

if you want to hear what it can do check out some tunes with my band here www.thephatconductor.com/DeptOfMotion-Teaser.mp3 or a live set here www.thephatconductor.com/tracklist-shambhala.htm

i don't use anything else anymore at all.

i also use it to make a living as a producer/performer, and teacher, so i know what i'm talking about. if you are having problems hit the messageboard at www.ableton.com there are tons of people there who will tell you everything you need to know.

i also do phone sessions, and online tutorials. hit me up if you want to learn.

lol im not a hater

im just an understander

and i understand from my experiences with ableton live and VST plug ins it needs improvements.

I have used many different production evironments and it just has to work.

ableton live is good for sampling etc etc, but for actual production, it sucks.

been ages since I last posted Ableton is still software when it comes to DJing you can get as creative as you want but there's nothing like a good old method of having full control over the record on real turntables or CD tts like those with rotating platters from Denon
