Oddball production question
OK you know in a lot of house songs (other genres too, but I notice it more in house..) The song breaks down and cuts out most of the drum beat and the sounds in the song sorta sound distant / muffled .. then when the beat drops again, the distortion goes away .. creates a nice effect.
sorry if that was vague. I'm just tryin to figure out what filter or effect you use to get that muffled vibe to the samples. |

its called the super twist effect
i can send you a program to use the effect for only 29.95 but if you pm now then ill throw in "the triple twiste effect" and "the super twist effect" for only 19.95 Last edited by Chewy; Feb 12, 06 at 12:46 AM. |

yes, the LPF is what you're looking for. soooo overused in house (esp. disco house) but it's a nice effect that's hard to resist as a producer. just try not to wank out on it too much, it's best when used subtly.
There should be a native LPF in Cubase, but if you use a sampler instrument like Kontakt, the built in filter banks should sound much nicer. |
