I think your best solution is to buy some vinyl, download some CDs and pick up gear along the way. Mixers range from 60-600 dollars, but for 150, you should have something with 3 channels and bass and treble on each channel.
Technics are the standard and MK3ds are the shit, they got that quarts lock. However, a pair of second hand stantons or neumarks will do the trick, just do your home work, because my old stantons pitch drifted (straight60s suck) 1200s are the easiest to work with, they lock a groove tighter than a virgin. |

go with vynal dude, it aint really djing if u use cd's and mp3's only, if u wanna be a serious dj u gotta learn to work the vynal. and u dont need to have technics to start out with. just keep an eye open for some used direct drive decks and ebay sells cheap mixers beringer are cheap and work well but dont last too as long as say numarks but they still work awsome,(u can always upgrade mixers as u progress.) have u use turntables before?

Find a new room mate who already HAS a set up, so that you can devote your money to building up a collection of tunes, and fool around without having to commit to a huge expense. Then if you do feel you want to get more serious about it start forking over the money for your own! :silly:
...mostly kidding here, but I do know a lot of Dj's who actually started out playing on others people's equipment. |

I love vinyl. But I still have CD-J's. Go with what you can afford. Its upto you. I would suggest for a mixer go for a nice Stanton one, or Numark. Dont go for bottom of the line cuz you will regret it once you get more into it. And it also depends on if ur gonna use it for Turntablism or Mixing. Go to TomLee, they help people out a lot with info.
