Looking for ragga drum n bass/breaks tracks (Year 2000+)
Hey :)
I posted this last year, but again looking for anything I've missed. So, looking for all/any ragga drum n bass/breaks tracks you can think of. Now, i'm only looking for year 2000+. (No classic ragga, I know there's tons of that) Not looking for dubby tracks either (eg visionary, some shy fx stuff - floaty dub stuff.. you know what i'm talking about) I'm talking.. like Muffler - Dancehall Theme, Tarantula, Control Z - Badman kind of stuff.. the heavier stuff. Both breaks & d&b. I'm pretty sure I have most. (Not kiding) but making sure i've not missed anything.. Have a listen to my mix Kingston Selection to get an idea of the tracks i'm looking for.. wait even better, check the tracklisting! (in my sig, underneath the link for the mix) Any help greatly appreciated.. Jay Dabbler, Barry Dangamouse, SkipEZ, etc etc, looking your way here :D |

No disrespect at all mate but my bag is stuffed full of ragga choons, just not that breakcore style - TRUST. I'm a huge fan of that classic style, i've even bought a couple Dj K tracks and such And I'm just not really looking for that style at the mo. :D Last edited by firestar; Apr 12, 06 at 02:40 PM. |

The labels you mentioned above, sorry mate I thought that style was breakcore (eg N2O). I mean that style is definatly not a 'tarantula' style though right (just using that as an example). It's really apples and oranges. The only similarity is they both use ragga samples. |

breakcore is way more hardcore and noisier then modern jungle (N20) etc. Stuff like kid 606. Stuff like on the N20 label is more of a throwback to that old school jungle mash-up sound but with a whole host of modern day artists working that sound in new ways. You also see that sound in drum&bass with artists like breakage using lots of drum edits and layers. So yeh breakcore is way more hardcore from what i've listened to.
