HOLYMOTHERFUCKINGSWEETDEADBABYJESUS!!1!1 1!!!!!!!!!
Includes Remix of Grammy Nominated Single, "The Great Satan" Ministry and RevCo Kick Off MasterBaTour The Same Week, May 5th through July 20th US/Canada New York, NY- On the heels of their latest Grammy nomination, Ministry - the godfathers of industrial rock - announce the release of their 13th studio album with Rio Grande Blood, in stores on May 2, 2006 via Al Jourgensen's own 13th Planet Records [Megaforce Records]. A follow up to 2004's critically acclaimed, politically charged Houses of the Mole, Rio Grande Blood continues Jourgensen's fearless assail on the Bush administration and the global reverberations of war. Produced by Jourgensen, the album also features guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong, ex-Danzig), bassist Paul Raven (Killing Joke), drummer Mark Baker and a special guest appearance from Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), in addition to the debut of Sgt. Major and Liz Constantine of Dizzy X. Rio Grande Blood comes amidst a busy year for Jourgensen, who is also releasing a new Revolting Cocks CD, Cocked and Loaded, on March 7th (featuring guest performers Jello Biafra, Billy Gibbons, Gibby Haynes, Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander), launching his own record label, 13 th Planet Records, and enjoying his 2006 Grammy Award nomination. Jourgensen's track, "The Great Satan" from the recent Ministry 25th anniversary collection Rantology, is currently nominated for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category. This is the third Grammy nomination for Jourgensen and Ministry, who were also nominated in 1993 and won in 2000. Rio Grande Blood will feature Jourgensen's updated remix version of "The Great Satan," a political indictment of America's participation in the Iraqi war. Immediately following the release of Rio Grande Blood, Jourgensen will take to the road for the MasterBaTour, doing double duty with both of his current bands, Revolting Cocks and Ministry. A 13 th Planet Records extravaganza, the 60-day tour kicks off on May 5th in Houston, TX and will travel across the United States and Canada for 11 weeks, with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. Another Texas-based act, Pitbull Daycare opens. European headline festival dates are currently being booked late July through August. 13th Planet has also confirmed the Ministry touring line-up as Jourgensen, Raven, Victor and drummer Joey Jordison. The Revolting Cocks line-up will include Luc van Acker, Phildo Owen (Skatenigs), Josh Bradford and Clayton Worbeck (Stayte), Sin (Society 1), Eddy Garzia (Pissing Rasors, Ministry), and Ana K (Hanzel und Greytl). In a time where most metal is fucking tripe SOAD/MINISTRY have something to say. I've always been all about lyrical content. Bad Religion is always #1 in punk for me because of how intelligent the lyrics are. I like Brujeria and Sepul/Slayer so on and so on but NO ONE comes close to starting a riot like Ministry does. Since I was 10 and heard NWO I loved Ministry and I never had a clue as to what Al was saying until a few years ago. Houses of the Mole and Rio Grande say alot more than 99% of metal. |

^ Im all about political revolutionaries in music, but when the musical talent doesn't really excite me it's hard to take the time to get into the lyrics (although I am gunna read ministry's new lyrics, im just sayin..) Id rather read that shit for myself and listen to a bad ass album like the new(est) release from Bodom - are you dead yet. just slays ministry in every musical aspect.
Psycroptic has some pretty insane lyrics you should check them out. Talkin about bein stuck in that vibrational prison , alien influence on earth's progression, etc all structured in crazy metaphors. it's insane stuff. |
