Nelly Furtado: Selling Out or Evolution

So what do people think of Nelly Furtado's new look and musical style? Any comments on her CD title? haha I hated Promiscuous at first, Top 40 isn't my thing, but it's quite fun at clubs I have to say. What do people think about her change?

i'm not going to dwell on her career direction, but it's definetely a departure from her previous image.

there's nothing wrong with putting out a club/party/summer song, but if the rest of her shit goes in this direction, she'll be as pointless and generic as any other random pop princess.

why should an artist be expected to stick with one style of music?

most people have extensive tastes in music, and just because they listen to country one day and hip-hop the next does not mean they're selling out. it just means they have a vast appreciation for different music styles.

being able to conform = talent IMOO

I always thought her music is shitty and her voice is annoying . Suffice to say i haven't heard the new song.

selling out. i called it when i heard them say on the radio a few months ago that nelly furtados new CD was going to be a "different side of nelly than you're used to seeing" its all trendy garbage to make money in my opinion.
but then thats what everyone seems to be doing and they are getting rich of it so there are many different views on whether its wrong or right im sure.

I don't call it a sellout at all.... you tell me this if you were a small time singer from Victoria who got the chance to change her style to get her album produced by a mainstream producer like timbaland, which means selling muilti millions all across the world instead of the average canadian listener who will contribute to a milion or 2 records sold at most in sales.... you wouldnt wana make the crossover for the money? Like comon!!!! should we not be proud we gotta a small time canadian white chic on BET tearin up da charts with high calibre artists like Justin Timberlake makin free cameos?
