I'm just interested to see what both sides have to say. Although I do agree that this must be a trance deejay,,, but tbh i have no clue as to who it might be. I've even heard people suggesting that this it was me,,, although I can assure you it's not- check the ips! LOL anyways,,, i don't expect anyone who isn't a trance deejay or a real trance lover to be concerned with what's going on with this thread or whith how shy brothers did thier write up in the first place. HAHHAH GONG SHOW FER SURE :keebler: |

who gives a fuck if their lying or not. Point is they've combined wiht uh-oh and thrown 2 great parties with some awesome talent and their about to throw another party at the PNE which was well missed and they stacked 2 rooms. So what if their lying. Thats the way promotion works. U think T.V. ads are always telling the truth?

you know whats ironic...
this guy is flamming the Shy Brothers so bad, yet i bet he will still go to their parties. I don't know who you have talked to, but my best friend over in the UK has heard of Shy Brothers. Also has been to a rave that they have played at, or something like that. It comes down to this... -they have thrown and are going to throw some the best parties Vancity has and will see -their set at Fusion fucking rocked -their music is well put together -they are pumping up the scene big time again They are doing good for the scene, so let them talk all they want. I personally don't care whether all the shit is true or not. ...and last but not least your a fag who does this to overrate himself in being the greatest cridict in Vancouver, when really you are a waste of our time and bandwidth on this forum. get this guy's user IP and find out who he really is on the forums :tounge1: |

I just find it amusing how all the people straight up defending the shy brothers can't even spell.
I understand where the bitterness of the collective_dj's post is coming from, but whether or not it was appropriate to express on a public message board seems to be answered by the fact that it is now in the toilet bowl.... |

wurd not trying to play up for any side on this one. write ups, flyers and all that kinky shit all fall under the category of commercials. it shows the great shiny side of things. it doesn't mean that's the standard model. no one's gonna do a mediocre write-up about themselves. that's it...there's only one way to settle this. good ol' fashioned cock whip out. you guys all whip it out when i'm off having a smoke, confer among yourselves, and decide upon the winner based upon whoevers not a little bitch. word |

omg wtf how can u say that teh shy brothrs r not grate????

At any rate, this is all totally pointless unless the Shy Brothers themselves would like to chime in with a response to the accusations. |

For IMF I got 24% OUT OF TOWN djs, leaving with 76% locals... Thats quite the miscalculation.. Rhythm Nation's "second stage" has as many OUT OF TOWN djs as IMFs whole party.. I dont know why I posted this but I guess its my pet peave when people dont know wtf their talking abut.. :toasted: |

i said this months agos....who the fuck are the shy brothers....and why do they promote themselves as headliners!!!!
you should all go to montreal, write-ups are non-existant. flyers go something like this PICOTTO MAX GRAHAM DJ DAN FERRY CORSTEN date: location: its a fucking party, not some festival!!! anyone remember amp/sweet? either way, have fun guys :) |

The thing is that 99% of the people that go to a MASSIVE are there to party, end of FUCKING storey... they have no idea who Shy Bros or AK1200 are and most likely wouldn't care if they did know (as shown by multiple replies to these type of threads). For any of you who do not fall under this category, you did at one point and most likely got fucked out of your head flailing to some DJ that played AWESOME "rave songs." If I was a DJ on a main stage at a MASSIVE I'd bring my CD deck and play a mix CD. Seriously if you're all about the music go to club nights and see specific artists. That way you pay for what you want to see. Now with generalizations there are always exceptions so if a certain MASSIVE apeals to you anyway than go to it. If it doesn't than don't.
Further more the only people who didn't lie, over exagerate and so on about everything to do with their shows was ETBros and they've gone out of business so I guess it doesn't work well as a policy. |

To add to that, when I was new to the whole scene I probably saw countless DJ's that sucked ass and thought they were so good (Greg C when he was a new DJ!!!!!). I also had some of the best times I might ever have for the rest of my life. It didn't matter that I was clueless (to me anyway, I probably pissed off lots of jaded fucks) about what was actually going on because I didn't care. I can remember (cue the laugh track) one time thinking that Azim (playing bad trance) was DJ A-Track and going up to him to say how great his set was later that night. Azim said he wasn't A-Track but thanked me anyway.
What I'm getting at is that an event like this is all about the individual experience someone has at it. Personally I'm not going to gain anything from going to this event but I'm sure a lot of people will. All the same if I was looking for something to do this night I might end up going and having a good time. Good luck Uh-Oh and Shy Bros. |

But is it really worth it to get so worked up about the lack of education in the scene?
The kids that are going to these massives without a clue about who and what they're listening to are, as Nolan said, just there to get fucked up flail. Like all of us, after a certain point, you either lose interest in parties, or the music grabs you and you learn more about it. Give these kids time, if they're here for the music, they'll eventually develop their own taste, and learn to distiguish the good from the bad. Regarding the Shy Brothers and their write ups... to each their own. As has been stated, if you don't like what you've read, don't support them. It's very simple. They've thrown some big parties with lots of people and lots of big names. Or so I've heard, as I haven't attended any of them for the purpose of partying (I was at one briefly either to flyer or because a friend of mine was playing). an annual festival like spooky, twisted or ny's eve would blab on abt how long their parties have been goin on and how they're out to find the TRUE party goers , finding the right sound, and plur this plur that etc etc. it's just filler stuff if they didn't fill it in sum fuckin ravers would step in sooner or later and say how there's a lack of detail in rave flyers Quote:
kuz if a club like godskitchen or a rave like creamfields had hurting lineups.. man.. there'd be more than 1% of the people who'd know if it would suck or not.. i would think it would be 30% or so. even in vancouver i think it's maybe 10% or a bit more one of many factors would be how empty a party is especially at plaza. just look at Mr Wiggles 2 weeks ago... people were NOT fucked up to see him he drew in a CROWD! i swear there must've been more than a handful of people who said the rave sucked but said wiggles rocked.
