finally reading this all through post-by-post im surprised by the number of people putting down the shybros. just because someone took a easy shot at them, doesn't give room for everyone to take part a little. bottom line shybros are putting on a hell of a show coming up, and I think that deserves some respect. whos this collective_djs? sounds like a pussy dj who wouldnt use his own account. the write up on the flyer was pretty funny, but any informed raver should know their stuff and laugh.. not resort to slanging insults via the internet.

As Ive said, Rhythm Nations second stage alone has as many headliners as IMF's whole party combined. Just to give you an idea, The Bassbin Twins cost would pay for Tony Faline, Gumbee and Sharaz's full expences with a little cash left over... Some of these "OUT OF TOWN" djs arent as BIG TIME as you think.. Last edited by dj_precise; Jul 17, 03 at 11:55 AM. |

actually i know that but there's a quiet demand for these guys and i guess ben and mike wanna meet the demands of the people they threw in 3 stages of locals for the pleasure of people who dig the locals. they could ajust had 3 stages or 2 and spent a bit more on even bigger djs... plus some djs they just can't get whether they've been here before, are coming, are busy , etc and u shouldn't be comparing IMF to rhythm.. the majority of the people who know lineups know rhythm is quite sic in terms of talent and variety. shy bros also put in sound quality. that's a big difference too. kuz lighting ain't shit if u got bad sound IMO oh wel plur |

Someone should rename this thread IMF v.s Rhythm Nation. Why all the comparisons, why this heated debate, why all the stats? Both party's look sick, both are gonna be sick. Imf is more focused on the big trance headliners, because that is what the shy bro's are about, that's their genre, that's their main focus, but they provide the other stages for the other partiers who are not into trance. Rhythm Nation has a very diverse lineup, bringing in breaks, house, drum and bass headliners that vancouver has rarely or never seen, also throwing in a Hip Hop stage to cater to the hip hopers. Rhythm Nation is thrown by Agroculture, Vancouver guys who know what partiers from here want to see. Big Props to both Uh-Oh/ShyBro and AgroCulture, creating sick lineups that Vancouver partiers only dreamed about.
Dj precise says some of these dj's are not as big as you think, do u speak of the breakz stage, or the main stage, because the main stage is unbelievabley stacked. And why the hell are people bitching about Shy Bro's selling themselves as a headliner, maybe they are in europe, but even if they were not, IMF is a Uh-Oh and (b) Shy Brother's production, they can do whatever the hell they want, if you don't like them, dont' listen to them, i'm sure u'll find something u like at the other 4 stages. |

i'd really be surprised if people were actually demanding for some of these dj's unless they've just begun listening to electronica in the past month darude? come on! can you say "one hit wonder?" and not only that, but a one hit wonder from 2-3 years ago dj rap... from what i remember when i saw her, all she spun were dnb anthems ak1200, this guy was just here like a month ago, but no complains about it sharaz, tony faline, gumbee these guys have ALL been here in the past year and ill be extremely surprised if anyone has demanded these dj's... i could see sharaz, but tony faline and gumbee? HAH john 2899131 ps. and who are these shy brothers anyways? |

some people like "florida breaks" preferences... u know... like REAL HIP HOP AND MAINSTREAM HIP HOP. like u and i dood. we like hardhouse... but other shitheads gon go up to u and be like... wtf hardhouse = trash! anne savage? fuck her it's all about BASSBIN TWINS or wutever same dilly w/ the sharaz/faline 'HARDHOUSE' as to 'FUNKY HOUSE' obviously more people on THIS board would be like... funky house over the hardhouse oh ya... DARUDE is not one guy.. it's gonna be a 4 man live pa. most people just know of DARUDE producing that one hit wonder track... but we all know producing and dj'ing are 2 different things. just like how we don't know PRECISE's production skills would turn out but his dj'ing is fuckin off the hook and that's what gets him the fame so u can't exactly judge DARUDE just by that one track... kuz the guys that made the track mite not even be here to perform as with BROOKLYN BOUNCE.. they had cheese tracks but i thot their performance at Fusion was pretty nice.. unexpected i agree w/ u in that they've all been here and quite a few times and i think dj rap isn't that great myself. but ak is cool... some people don't hit the clubs kuz they can't, no time, not their thing, etc. and as lamzwell said. SHY/UHOH's main checkpoint is stage 1 the shit no other companies really touch on nowadays the rest is just filler i think... like the locals and maybe u haven't checked out their latest stuff plus u didn't really comment on future breeze, dumonde, etc. you can only satisfy so many people rite.? and doesn't really matter if this party can't cater to fnk kuz it seems like the hype's there and tickets are mad running according to sweet kandy and neal :p IMO anyway Last edited by ty:rone; Jul 19, 03 at 04:26 PM. |

Very true indeed! I guess you can never judge the way a djs performance will be like based on their tracks theyve made in the past.
Ive been pleasently suprised by this recently in the past too! Quote:

i am aware of the fact that sandstorm is not the only track by darude! trust me, i went through a trance stage just like everyone else and i had all of darude's tracks... and they were all crap! shit i might still even have a few on my computer and you're right, i didnt mention anything bad about johan, dumonde, and future breeze! you're SMRT! the reason why i didnt mention anything about these guys is because i havent heard of them. you're right! see where im going here...? 420, you've got a lot of good points! its sometimes just hard to believe that so many people out there are so eager to see tony faline, gumbee, and sharaz. its just that when i hear about these guys hand picking these dj's because of vancouver's "demands" it just really makes me wonder whether or not they actually asked people about it, or went with their own dj favorites john 2899131 |

Just so that there is no confusion.
The Collective Dj's are not the ConscienceCollective Dj's we respect the right of everyone to have their own opinion. And in this case, there are some very strong opinions. So it's up to you to make up your own mind. We are not for nor against the opinions expressed in this thread. |

Everyone should focus on the main issue here, and that is...
THE COLLECTIVE DJ's HAVE NO LIVES! Honestly people! Who the fuck would do this if they had a normal life!? I like the '100 years of combined exprience' or whatever the fuck they said. Take 25 tools who have been spinning for 4years. 100 years! WoW!~ 'We have contacted our sources in Spain, Germany etc etc' OMFG!~ Are these guys for real hahaha! Get a life buddy. Put down your magic trading cards, get off fruity loops and go buy your IMF ticket. We all know you will be there! ~DylaN~ Last edited by DNA; Jul 29, 03 at 02:08 PM. |
