Anne Savage @ The Cave - March 13th!
Book your calendars boys and girls as Twisted Productions is proud to bring you:
ANNE SAVAGE, UK Anne Savage. Well, with a name like that she was hardly going to join the convent now was she? Voted No. 27 in the world’s Top 100 DJs, Anne is well respected internationally as a DJ and producer. Anne’s style is hard and driving utilizing the styles of hard dance and techno, with a typical set providing uplifting and deep variations that will guide your mood throughout the night. It is her ability to watch how a crowd reacts to her sets which makes her the true clubber’s DJ. Anne has played in almost every corner of the globe with South Africa, Italy, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Ibiza and the rest of Europe all regularly welcoming Anne with open arms. USA, Canada and Holland all have particularly large followings. Canada invited Anne to represent the UK by playing for the British Embassy in Canada; she rammed the rafters at Holland’s biggest festivals ‘Dance Valley’ and ‘Mysteryland’, whilst Los Angeles flew Anne over for their truly ‘Monster Massive’ event in October. Despite additional regular tours of the States and Canada, Anne’s home turf of the UK is always a favourite, with Anne frequently playing for UK club giants Slinky, Passion, Frantic, Golden, Sundissential, and Inside Out in Glasgow. Anne Savage is also one of the few DJs that is requested at ALL of the UK’s major dance festivals including Creamfields, Homelands, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, the Tidy Weekender and Godskitchen’s Global Gathering. Ibiza beckons each summer for Anne with her 2002 highlights being her sets at Judgement Sundays and her residency for Slinky. But Anne doesn’t just spin those tunes. She has been producing for 6 years, recording under many guises with particular attention drawn to her work with BK, the Tidy Trax label and Nukleuz Recordings. She is one half of the Tidy Girls, alongside Lisa Lashes and her collaborations with BK on Nukleuz have resulted in licensing to both Judge Jules’ International Clubbed Compilation and BK’s own new compilation. 2003 production-wise is just as busy and high-profiled with Tidy Trax launching a new global and experimental album of Anne’s spinning skills and Anne herself preparing the launch of her very own label. The closure of Ministry magazine has seen the end of Anne’s regular and very popular column but she is however, still a common face in Mixmag, M8, BBM, Muzik and publications throughout the world. Anne is an icon to female clubbers everywhere and can be seen outside the music press with demand from lifestyle publications such as InStyle and B. Anne has set up her own website to help her interact further with fans from all over the world including one who even had Anne’s autograph tattooed on his back! www.annesavage.net is the official one stop shop of info on Anne that is scheduled to re-launch at the beginning of December ’02. To include regular personal updates from Anne, gig info, production info and of course, the ever-outspoken message board. Radio and TV are a regular occurrence for Anne. She is featured frequently through the BBC Radio 1 airwaves and back in March 2001 mixed Pete Tong’s Essential Mix. She took part in the award winning CH4 docu-soap ‘Faking It’ where she took a classically trained musician under her wing (and her roof) for a month and taught her how to walk, talk and mix like a Superstar DJ. She was also sought after by the BBC to present one part of the series ‘Choice World Clubbing,’ flying to Melbourne for a 36hr shoot for the upcoming BBC 3 series. Early next year, she even presents a video on ‘How To DJ’, pulling in fellow colleagues such as Judge Jules and JFK. The future looks savagely bright. Anne’s determination and passion is apparent to anyone who meets her. Her popularity is down to her vivacious personality and energetic performances, which comes across to all clubbers who love and follow her music. Gorgeous, friendly and a whole lot of fun – you know she’d be on the dancefloor if she wasn’t in the DJ booth – she really is the Clubber’s DJ. WITH LOCAL DJ's: Azim Tazix ... and more TBA!
