Damn, there was this dude last year, he had long hair.. can't remember his name... anyway I think he came in third or something. He had a different style from the rest of the guys and I definitely preffered his sound over G-nuis and his showboating/ego. Besides those 2, the skill level of the DJ's was poo!

Hope those who enter step it up this year!

not certain to whom exactly that request is directed towards, not certain you realize how things work exactly
but
we have no control over who chooses to apply or not to apply to compete
we picked the best of last years applicants to compete
some may not have been good, but from the pool we had to choose from, they were the best
we will pick the best applicants again this year
feel free to help convince people you know with skills to apply

Thats what it's all about though man, you stage presence, as well as your 'ism. I loved the show last year. And I too would like to see some good competition for g-nuis (although that bredren rocked the show). Also enjoyed the b-boys and stuff too. Mos def going again this year.

That shit takes years and years of practice yo and you say the talent was shit. Try it yourself man, it's fucking tough. I could never do it nor could I even comprehend the skills you need to be (internationally) good at that shit. So don't hate on the rookies until you've tried it yourself.

^ hahahaha... u're a tool

I understand how much talent it takes to rock a dmc set, but don't go dissin' someone else's intelligence on the matter. LJF knows his shit, and knows the difference between someone who is talented and someone that has no business being on a stage competing at a DMC placing show.

PS: This is in no way puttin down spectrum's show as Vancity has some sick ass turntablists that I'm sure will show up due to last years mockery.

What's that bitch? Don't be calling names now. I know my shit, sure he knows his, has he ever gotten on stage to do a turntablism set? No. have I? No. But you're the type of fool that would put a kid down for going up there and giving a good heart felt try. I'm the type of guy who would congradulate a loser and tell him to practice more and get up there next year.

Nuff said.

I might have come off a lil rough, but I still stand by my point. That is the DMC's are supposed to be a showcase... not scratch practice. Do you have any idea how many people are better than what was shown last year??? This year should make up for last years weak showing.

Yeah bredren that was a bit rough. I saw the DMC finals in 2002 in the UK man i've seen the talent out there. I've seen, qbert, craze, atrack, skratch piklz, scratch perverts, all live man. I love it. But you know what the best part is? It's like boxing man, it's all ego stage presence and talent. But i'm still not going to say last year sucked, because it didn't, it had a few dudes who were new. Fair enough. I could never do what they set out to do on two turntables, so to me, that's talent. Even if they went up there, tried they're best and sucked. I have respect for that guy who came in 7th because he went up there and gave it his all. I'll never put down a guy for that. And hey, that 7th place guy could think, "fuck, I need to do better" and practice 7 hours a day and be the next fucking atrack. You never know right?

Yeah... I dunno... I just think that if you deserve to be in the DMC's, then you would know, or at least have people who know DMC material tell you the same. I'm all for puttin in your best effort, but it's like watching 2nd/3rd rate players playin in the NHL.... (which might be happening if this keeps up)

I do understand your comments bredren, and thats true. I don't want to go to a dmc event and watch some dude 'straight outta his bedroom' who can't even scratch a beat, let alone juggle it (and here I am saying that not having a clue how to scratch) but anyways, yeah I do feel you on that. I agree where at least show me some DMC talent instead of some 'i'm using moms sanyo decks' dude. I apologize for coming across like i'm educated, because there's probably so much talent out there i don't know about. Although I don't care what anyone says, that g-nuis cat rocked the van show last year.

Heh, a little presumptuous are we? I'm not a turntablist by any means but I do know my way around a pair of decks. G-nius is dope, but I like the dude who does things without a cape. You loved the show, that's awesome, I guess some of us have higher standards.
