8pm, SAT MAR 19 :: Libertad :: All Ages Dance Ritual
Hey Everybody,
If you roll your eyes at Religious things. DELETE THIS MESSAGE Here's something a little off the beaten path for you. Those of you familiar with the concept of Spiritual Enlightment Through Music and Dance Please pay special attention.. The Anglican Church has been going through a divide of interests the past few years, Anglican Bishop Michael Ingham has taken a Strong PRO stance on the issue of Gay Marriage and among other issues this has created a split in members of the Anglican community. The issue at hand is simple, does the church wish to be a repressive influence on people's lives or should it foster caring and nuturing of people; regardless of financial, ethnic, or sexual classification. The teachings of any holy text can be used to how to live positively, without being taken literally, and certainly without being forced upon members of "another" community. Religious or not, I think all rational people can agree that a standard based upon anyone's personal belief or lifestyle or background is outrageous and should, short of censorship, be haulted like the poison that it is. Part of this somewhat liberal community, there is a man living in Oakland, CA named Matthew Fox. This man has examined the common components of Ritual. When deconstructed, these elements can seen in all forms of Ritual, regardless of what religion. For more detail on these components please visit www.technocosmicmass.ca If you have read this far, you are likely familiar with the concept of a Dance Ritual, and know that it is older than recorded history. It takes place every day, and is only as spiritual as the beholder. This dance will not continue as deeply as we know it can take us, but hey at least it's breaking down. I hope that given the free time you can join us for a good cause and a concept uncommonly practiced. |
