BC place to get new retractable roof

wont be completed until summer of 2011, The vancouver whitecaps have already annouced that bc place will be there new home. once the new dome is finished. The opening will be about the same size as the football field.

This will definately make is more appealing to the general public to go to events. And with the dome open maybe those concerts will sound a bit better.

yay, now when the Galaxy play the whitecraps, not only can advertisements announce Beckham, but also about the new retractable roof.

and still have absolutely no advertising for the whitecraps.

The other option is really just to demolish it though.

The roof really needs to be replaced. It's been there for as long as I can remember and we already had that tear in it... was it last year? Year before? I don't remember. But yeah, roof needs to be fixed. Otherwise they're really gonna need to tear down the whole stadium.

Well the Whitecaps have stated that they are working on a 5 year lease starting in 2011 for the stadium and that they want to gain access into the MLS which would be awesome for Vancouver. The building they are trying to get done down on the water doesn't sound like it will ever happen, there is a lot of politics wrapped up in that area.

it would cost more to demolish amd rebuild , over a billion they say.

so the only real option is a new roof.

you guys probably know this, but it costs tons to keep the roof inflated per year. They've been talking about a retracting roof on that for a while and i'm stoked about it. They can't possibly knock it down because it's as much of a landmark as science world is. I refuse to call it it's new name.

Having a giant indoor football field is a huge luxury. Don't be so hard on it and enjoy the fact that you live in a city that's gonna have one of these! It feels like they're putting spinners on a new car. Maybe that's a bad analogy... Lamborgini doors? I give it all a big thumbs up.

they are revamping the whole stadium, New seats, consession, kiosks, bathrooms, and so forth
