Candy-Kid makes a good point - it's an expensive time of year for most (not me, thankfully, but I see/know how it is for most peeps). If your party isn't on NYE proper, then most peeps will want to do something on the actual night of, just because there is something 'special' about going out on NYE that just can't be replicated by going out a couple of nights in advance. Add to this the cost of XMas and presents and all sorts of stuff, and it can leave most on this board pretty strapped.
Someone said earlier (in a diff. thread, I think) that with all the 'stuff' (contacts, cash reserves, know-how, etc) that U guys have that U could throw a smaller party and have it come off as a total success. Why not shrurg off the big-name DJ(s) and focus on a smaller party 'for' Vancouver 'by' Vancouver...and spotlighting some of the best and best up and coming DJs that we've seen in the last year? Persoanlly I've always felt smaller parties to have a better vibe...although don't get me wrong, massives have their place too. Just some further thoughts... |

USC, the American Version of Twisted, threw a party last year on the 28th. It was fuckin awsome, cuz people went to the party and then did there own thing on the 31st. Fawkin dope shit!
If I can make a suggestion for artists. Bring some huge Trance DJ, i don't really know who though, cuz I'm not into that. As for the breaks DJ, bring Baby Anne & Icey if there already not booked. Together again that would be sweet! But they'd have to spin @ the main stage. :kam: |

probably not a bad idea in the scence that twisted will be able to bring in the dj's they would like to get for newyears... on the other hand it is right before NYE and people might not be bothered to go cause they know they'll be getting reeeeaaallly gooned in acouple of days from then.
how are ticket sales doing for simple? good, bad? I would take into acount how well simples ticket sales are doing before deciding on anouther party so quickley...but i think twisted has already decided to do it ;) |

i think most (REAL) big euro trance/hardhouse headliners are going to stay home to spin becuz they will be more than doubly booked for that nite. i'm sure they'll be booked from the beginnin of the evening from one club till the end of a party at another club in some other city.

That was when RAVES were @ its peak! They aint like they use to be (in size)! Last year there was like 20people @ the Twisted NYE event (but it wasnt really a twisted show), & I heard the Exert show didnt do very well either, but like I said its a win or loose situation
& as for the Jungle in the main room, I wasnt serious I know it cant sell out Plaza YET! But its a gerne thats only going to get bigger badder & more popular! QUOTE]Originally posted by mikey: Not true ~ Last time twisted did a nye party @ plaza there was 5500 ppl there, i believe he might have made a lil bitty of bling on that.... and for make'n the one room all jungle and breaks, well it'd be grand, but the painful thruth is jungle and breaks don't sell well @ plaza.... ------------------- mikey ~ DA "It's my party come fly if ya want to, get high if you want to, cuz I know ya want to" ~ Fabulous [/quote] |
