BREATHE Headliners Announced!
ATTN: LINE-UP CHANGE!!!
**** UPDATED AS OF JUNE 6TH @ 3:00PM **** Twisted Productions in cooperation with Nocturnal Productions is proud to present: BREATHE When: Saturday, July 5th, 2003 Where: Plaza of Nations NOTE: Originally our show was booked and confirmed for the PNE Coliseum... Unfortunately due to loosing our multiple Hip Hop headliners, we felt it best to take the show, which is still with a PACKED line-up, to the Plaza of Nations. Our apologies for this last minute change but given the size and magnitude of the throwing a show at the Coliseum, we felt that the venue should change to something more appropriate to the line-up. So... here are the headliners that will be gracing the stages at the Plaza on July 5th... STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS ON LOCALS PLAYING IN EACH ROOM. MAIN ROOM: BAD BOY BILL, Chicago - Behind the Decks, www.badboybill.com Bill is considered by many to be the best hard house DJ in the USA, if not the world. He has the ability to mix tracks at a wicked pace, throwing down funky, smooth beats and overlaying impeccable scratching and turntable tricks that make crowds go wild. For over seventeen years the legendary Chicago native has been bangin’ wicked tunes and bringing down the house all over the world. As well as being a past winner of the prestigious DMC Championship, Bad Boy Bill is currently ranked in the top 100 DJs in the world. He showcases his talent in one of the continent’s most popular series of house music compilations “Bangin’ the Box” volumes 1 through 5. He brings to Vancouver his own unique style of funky and hard house with a bassy hip hop feel. Opening for Bad Boy Bill, playing a special 15-20 minute set, will be: STEVE SMOOTH , Chicago - IHR, www.stevesmooth.com Born and raised on Chicago's Southside, Steve Smooth first entered the dance music scene in 1991. As a DJ, Steve worked to perfect his style of mixing, hitting the Chicago club circuit and gaining recognition along with guest appearances on several college radio stations. This eventually lead to a frequent guest spot on the Sunday mix show, "The Street Flava," which aired on Chicago's largest radio station B96 (96.3 FM). Steve has since ventured into the studio, producing and remixing tracks for some of the hottest dance labels including International House Records and Moody Recordings. His first original production "Beat Freaker" created a frenzy on dance-floors worldwide. Gaining recognition as a production force to be reckoned with, Steve's skills in the studio have earned him a part on Bad Boy Bill's production team, with credits on Bad Boy Bill's dance-floor hits, "Everybody," "Costa Del Sol" and "Happy." Today Steve has been taking his sound to the masses on tour alongside Bad Boy Bill. It’s a guarantee that within a few years we will see Steve be one of the worlds most well known House DJs. SOLARSTONE , UK - Deep Blue Recordings, Perfecto, www.solarstone.org.uk Rich Mowatt and Andy Bury are Solarstone - The hyper-versatile Birmingham-based production duo who record and produce under many aliases, including Z2 (deep and throbbing trance, Electro grooves), Liquid State (vocal-led progressive/trance) and the legendary Solar Stone (top quality trance, breaks, and progressiveness). They have been working together for the past 7 years producing such mega hits as “Seven Cities” and “Solarcoaster”, along with chart topping remixes like the one they did for “Bullet in the Gun” and Moonman’s “Galaxia”. They have gained a large following, especially from the likes of DJ's such as Sasha & Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren, Graham Gold, Paul van Dyk, Armin, & Ferry to name but a few. Get ready for a prime time set of incredible trance music. JOHN 00 FLEMING, UK - J00F recordings, Most Wanted, www.john00fleming.com Over two years ago John ‘00’ Fleming played an unforgettable, powerful set of progressive trance for thousands of fans at Twisted 2001. Since then, he has become one of Twisted’s most highly requested repeat headliners. John is one of the world’s finest trance DJs and was a major player in building the electronic movement throughout Europe. Behind him is over twenty years of experience and a proven ability to move audiences like none other. He makes regular appearances at Gods Kitchen, The Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher, the Love Parade, Golden, and Cream and is currently ranked 36 of the top 100 DJs in the world. As a producer, he has had many chart topping hits and released tracks on major labels like React, Additive, & Hook, and as a remixer his credits include such luminaries as Erasure, Gloria Estefan, Mansun and Junior Vasquez. This all has led him to the creation of his own signature label J00F whose tracks can be found the crates of any serious trance DJ. DJ MODA, San Fransisco - Trancefusion, J00F America, www.trancefusion.com Eric Reynolds, a.k.a. DJ MODA, spins and records music out of the San Francisco Bay Area. For the past eleven years, he has been avidly involved in the SF Dance Scene as a Producer, Promoter, DJ and Artist. In the early 90's MODA played alongside artists such as Moby, Orbital, The Prodigy, Roger Sanchez, Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, and Joey Beltram. Since 1995, MODA has promoted and produced several key San Francisco Bay Area events, and founded club Future-SF. He now has the prestigious task of running the American branches of the UK’s Most Wanted DJ agency and J00F Recordings. Azim (Twisted, Swing Kids) Tazix (Twisted, Swing Kids) WJB (Nocturnal) BREAKS ROOM: DRUMATTIC TWINS , UK - Drumattic Records, Fingerlickin' Nick Slater & LANX have been addicted to electronic dance music since the mid 80's. Artists such as Kraftwerk, Africa Bambaata, & Mantronix have inspired the Peterborough based duo to explore and sometimes redefine the realms of electronica. Probably best known as two thirds of Shades of Rhythm and two thirds of The Freakazoids, Nick and Lanx have an accolade of dancefloor classics in their portfolio such as 'Sweet Sensation', 'Sound of Eden', 'Homicide' and 'The Exorcist' and have toured with dancefloor gods like Sasha, Carl Cox and the Prodigy, "to name a few". The duo is building a strong reputation for delivering a consistent mix of quality produced music, spanning numerous styles. Every DJ playing Breaks today will have at least one of there records in their crate. This is why we are excited to have the duo here in their first ever appearance to Vancouver playing their unique style known as “Funky Disco Breaks!” We have a very special guest that will MC'ing the room the entire night in addition to putting on several shows of his own and hosting a dance competition! -- With the amount of producing he's been doing lately, he may even drop a set!
